Gary Jones is leaving Bradford City.

The veteran skipper, who is 37 next month, has today been told that he will not be offered a new contract.

Jones played exactly 100 games in his two-year spell with the club, scoring eight goals, and led them out at Wembley twice.

Phil Parkinson said: "I can't speak highly enough of him as a person and as a player.

"I wish him all the very best for the future and I'm sure the fans will be quick to do likewise."

City have already released Garry Thompson and Matthew Bates. Andy Gray also left the club after agreeing to cancel his contract early.
