Bradford City’s women cut it fine in their 2-1 victory over bottom club Blackburn Rovers as Sarah Danby followed up Molly Sharpe’s opener with a last-minute winner.

City host Sporting Albion on Sunday knowing another success will lift them to third in the FA Women’s Premier League (North) table, with a second-place finish still a realistic target.

City’s reserves are awaiting the outcome of Nottingham Forest’s final game at Newcastle to know if they can add the Reserve Division trophy to last weekend’s League Cup final penalty shoot-out win over Cardiff.

The A team’s West Riding League Shield challenge has also been put on hold. The final was due to be held on Monday but Wetherby Athletic’s semi-final win over Ossett Town has been declared void and the tie must be replayed.
