Joe Arundel is raring to go as he prepares to make his Bulls debut in the Super League home clash with Warrington on Sunday.

The former Castleford centre arrived on loan until the end of the season along with Hull FC team-mate Jay Pitts last week.

While Pitts made his bow in last weekend’s Challenge Cup win over Catalan Dragons, Arundel was cup-tied.

Now though, the 22-year-old looks certain to face Warrington and he admits he cannot wait to run out at Odsal.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Arundel.

“The boys had a good win against Catalan so I need to perform if selected and then try and keep my spot.

“Training has been good and the boys have been really helpful. I knew quite a few of them already and have fitted in without any problems.

“It’s a good set-up here at Tong – probably one of the best I’ve seen, to be honest.”

Arundel was impressed as Francis Cummins’ men fought back from 16-0 down to beat Catalan 33-20.

“Players such as Luke Gale, Brett Kearney and Lee Gaskell are class acts but I thought the forwards really stood up last weekend,” he said.

“The first ten minutes or so were tough but the lads turned it around and full credit to them.

“All the lads played well, and Luke George and Adrian Purtell were quality in the centres, so we’ll have to see what Franny does against Warrington.

“I certainly hope to be involved and it’s up to me to force my way into his plans. All I can do is keep working hard.”

Victory for Bradford on Sunday would condemn Warrington’s side to a sixth Super League defeat of the season.

But Arundel cautioned: “They have got threats all over the park: Michael and Joel Monaghan, Matty Russell, Richie Myler and Stefan Ratchford.

“They are strong in the forwards – Chris Hill has been leading them – and in the centres too with Chris Bridge.

“Ryan Atkins is also starting to get back to his best form too, so it’ll be a good contest.

“We’ve got a tough period coming up but there is no reason why we can’t pick up a few wins. Everyone is beatable this year.”

Cummins, meanwhile, is closing in on new signings and is hoping to bolster his squad before the weekend.

“I hope to have someone in but things aren’t happening quickly,” said the Bradford head coach, who is still seeking authorisation to make overseas signings.

“There are other clubs involved and the search has been non-stop for three or four weeks now.

“Hopefully we’ll see something happen, if not this week then in the next couple of weeks.

“We need middle men and we’ve probably got four props at the moment but we need another one or two.

“Ideally I would like permanent signings but we may have to take more loans because that’s where we are at the moment.”

The Bulls chief will assess James Donaldson (ankle), Dale Ferguson (back) and Manase Manuokafoa (hamstring) but Chev Walker looks certain to be passed fit.

Cummins said: “Donno has got a good chance and Dale should be back in full training, but we don’t want to rush him back.

“There are a few players wrapped up in cotton wool and we will assess everyone tomorrow (Friday).”

Game time, he is only 23 or whatever he is and Hull have a very good back line.

Obviously Hull saw something in him when they signed him.

Lets not forget at Cas he was very good and hopefully he can repeat that again.

Because they want to play Rugby at Super league level & cant get into their own top 6 squads. They are pro sports men. We should embrace this & I for one am glad these two are on our side. Pitts looked good on Sunday lets hope we can push on now. Warrington are not the side they were so with an effort like we saw on Sunday we are in with a real chance of the 2 points.

My point is could there be a problem with him as you don't normally get shipped about so young ?

Without reserve grade (or the open age A team) where do these players go for game time if over 19? it's either dual registration with a championship side or on loan to a team with injury problems or a small squad.

It would be ideal if we could sign the talent available, but it's good that at least some experienced SL players are available on loan.
Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth, if it helps us to stay up in SL.
The irony is that if we were in the Tier 2 (SL 2) next year and on half compensation money, we would still be £300k better off than the last two years????

You don't know much do you?

Jamie Peacock - sent to play down under when at Bulls to get experience.
Ryan Atkins - Bradford - Wakefield - Warrington - England!
Chris Bridge - left when he was young.
It happens all the time.

There could have been a problem with Michael Dobson, young Aussie getting sent over here, surely if he was good enough he would have stayed (happened twice)

We don't want and cant get any so called super stars we are only going to get loan players for the rest of the season. You only have to look at Castleford to see that a team of no super stars but have momentum and belief can go a long way in this league.Like they say you have to make the most of what you've got and thats the situation we find ourselves in.You only have to look at the training facilities we have and it shows the foundations are there.Hopefully we have a owner who can count basic maths and only spend what you have coming in its not rocket science. So back to sunday its time to get behind the team im bringing a rhino fan who is know a bulls follower as well so come people get to odsal on sunday COYB KEEP THE FAITH

So any player who goes out on loan doesn't deserve a super league contract that's a very interesting point.Maybe you should contact all Super league chairman and inform them of your great knowledge of the capabilities of certain players and save them a fortune in contract payments or even better you could become an agent and only have players who are regulars in there teams but don't forget to put in there contracts that when they drop down the pecking order they will be removed from your list as like you have stated they are not very good so should look for a different career path. Beverly hills needs a spell checker so don't think its my new found mate Viking, Both points are valid as some need super league experience since the under 23 comp was stopped but this maybe returning in some form so it gives younger players more time to develop. And yes some others are shipped out on loan because they are crap.

You always get shipped about so young. Mullaly was 22, Danny Bridge 23, Jacob Fairbank 21. Leeds have a dozen teenagers dotted about. I have said it before, some people are good at winding up. It is a talent I appreciate and enjoy, as I know the usual suspects always bite. You just talk drivel.
