Former Yorkshire second-team coach Paul Farbrace is set to sensationally quit Sri Lanka to be part of England’s new coaching team, which is due to be announced tomorrow.
It is understood that Peter Moores of Lancashire will be named as the new head coach, having been sacked from the same job in early 2009.
But Farbrace impressed England and Wales Cricket Board bosses enough at interview earlier this week to be the new number two.
It would be a shock turn of events as Farbrace only left Yorkshire to take up a role as Sri Lanka’s head coach at Christmas.
He has since won the Asia Cup and the World Twenty20 with the Sri Lankan team.
