WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY Catch details for week ending April 13 – Day ticket: Fewston 33, Swinsty 6, Thruscross (catch and return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 141, Swinsty 13, Thruscross 4. Average per rod: Fewston 4.3, Swinsty 2.2, Thruscross 4.0. The heaviest fish caught was a 4lb 7oz rainbow trout by Vincent Jones using Viva. Fewston: conditions almost perfect early in the week before getting progressively windier by Sunday, making casting difficult. Trout close to weeded areas feeding on spawning coarse fish. Swinsty: Perch close in shallow water taking coloured spinners. Trout still prefer ledgered worm. Thruscross: wild brown trout sitting in deep water as cold north-east wind has put a chill on the surface.

LISTERHILLS AA The draw for tomorrow’s open match on the canal at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. Catches from the canal have consisted of mostly small fish. Not many anglers have been on the river. Members using two rods must obtain a second rod permit which costs £5.

KEIGHLEY AC The second leg of the club’s canal match series takes place on Easter Sunday. In addition to cash prizes, a trophy will be awarded to the eventual winner – the angler who records the three highest aggregate weights. Organiser Darren Watson is currently in pole position and looking to extend his lead after a convincing win in the opening match. The draw for the Easter match, which is open to all Keighley AC members, will take place at 9am at Belton Road, Silsden. For further information, contact Darren on 07795-243332.

CENTRAL AC Results of Sunday’s match at Birkin: 1 R Creek (28lb 4oz), 2 J Wharfe (24lb 12oz), 3 P Main (21lb 12oz), 4 J Capes (18lb 8oz). Our next match is at Far View on Sunday, April 27. Meet at venue at 8am. Fishing 9am to 3pm. No floating baits are allowed.

BRADFORD PALS AC This result of Sunday’s match on the New Junction Canal at Sykehouse Lock: 1 Brian Clabburn & Keith Gardner 12lb 0oz, 3 John Charles Foreman 11lb, 4 John Barraclough 10lb 13oz. The hard luck story of the day goes to big Mick Stoney, who caught a 14lb pike during the match which didn’t count. This was his only fish. Our next match is on Sunday, April 27 at Birkwood Farm on the main lake. The draw will be at 9am and you must have two keep-nets in order to fish. Everyone is booked on for this match so if you can’t make it you must notify the match secretary by Sunday or you will be charged a peg fee. The top of the points table is wide open after three matches: Andy Clough 21pts, Geoff Darke 21, Trevor Wood 20, Bernard Hook 18, Pete Fraser 17.
