Queensbury will rest a number of key players when they meet New Earswick All Blacks in the Pennine League Championship Division clash at Hill Top tomorrow.

Bury, who travel to Hunslet Old Boys in the semi-final of the Ace Insurance BARLA National Cup in a fortnight, are in the luxurious position of not having to worry about promotion or relegation as they prepare for one of the most important games of their long history.

Player-coach Andy Senior is rested alongside Bury’s find of the season Tom Hainsworth. Prop Lee Kelly will play some part of the game, leaving a very happy Senior to reflect: “We could have done with the week off but I now have the chance to give some of our fringe players the chance to claim a jersey for the forthcoming National Cup tie and also put themselves in contention for a Bradford Cup final outing.”

Wibsey Warriors entertain Thornhill in the Premier Division, having secured another Jack Senior Bradford Cup final appearance after overcoming old foes West Bowling last week.

Both sides will be counting the bumps and bruises, the consequences of what was at times a torrid affair. Bowling have the tougher task of the two when they attempt to put a spoke in the wheel of classy title-chasing Sharlston Rovers at Emsley’s Recreation Ground.

Clayton bring their Second Division campaign to a close with a home game against Siddal A. The Villagers, who have not gained any points this term, deserve a huge pat on the back, having completed the season against all the odds when other more equipped teams have fallen by the wayside.

Victoria Rangers aim to complete their Division Four unbeaten record when they travel to main rivals Whinmoor.

The Vics are already champions and are set to contest both the Pennine Supplementary and the Hudson Foster Bradford Cup finals to finish their season with a record haul of silverware in the cabinet.
