Cleckheaton 63, Malton & Norton 21

With their promotion to SSE National League Three North already secured and six first-team regulars unavailable due to a stag weekend, Cleckheaton thought they might have their work cut out against a youthful looking Malton side who were already relegated but would have loved to end the season on a high.

Despite The North Yorkshiremen's early score through full back Ian Cooke, the first half was largely one-way traffic as the Moorenders ran in five tries, with James Wilson grabbing two and Josh White, Alex Dawson and Ross Hayden scoring one apiece, the latter converting all five.

The second 40 minutes followed a similar pattern as Cleckheaton's speed of play and power in the forwards was too much for Malton to resist, and four more tries followed from White, man of the match Jack Bickerdike, Dawson and Jack Seddon.

Hayden converted all four to maintain a 100 per cent record with the boot.

Malton never gave up and were rewarded with two late consolation tries as the curtain closed on an excellent title-winning season for Cleckheaton.
