City finally ended a run of six straight defeats at the hands of Rotherham with a gritty point at the New York Stadium.
It was a drab game for the live TV cameras but the travelling fans were delighted to see their team share the spoils after so much disappointment against their South Yorkshire rivals.
The draw lifts the Bantams up to 50 points – surely enough to avoid any late panic in the dogfight at the bottom of the table.
Adam Reach had City’s best chance with a close-range effort blocked by keeper Adam Collin.
Rotherham hit the post through Michael O’Connor and missed good chances from Haris Vuckic and Kari Arnason.
That's it, 0-0 - at last a point against Rotherham!
City kill some time by replacing Bennett with Thompson
Massive shouts for handball against Jones. No says the ref.
Pringle corner picks out Arnason unmarked - and he heads over! Three more minutes of stoppages to go
Rotherham sponsors give man of the match to Nicky Adams. He got subbed after an hour...
The Mini Emirates. Wowzers. The only thing #rufc and #afc have in common is that the fans don't make any noise #bcafc— @bantamsbanter 11 April 2014
He's up and trying to continue. No doubt a bit groggy though
Stead's hold-up play has been much better second half. But he's down in a heap now after crashing into Collin going for a cross
Pringle passes to .... nobody as the ball runs out for a City goal kick. Old frothy mouth threatens to explode further along the row!
City fans trying to sing their team home to the final whistle. Eight minutes plus stoppages to go yet lads...
Bennett has been class tonight for me. #bcafc— @lmonaghan86 11 April 2014
De Vita's eyes light up as he gets in behind the defence to thump a shot at Collin. But the flag was up for offside against the Italian
De Vita seems to be playing just behind Stead
De Vita coming on for Dolan
Vuckic shoots over. He's been a busy boy so far
De Vita about to come on. Hasn't been on the pitch for City since December 14!
Jones is down and getting treatment. Not getting a lot of sympathy from the frothing mouth of the old boy sat across from the press box...
McArdle heads it out of goalmouth and Jones launches it out the penalty area..
City coming under more and more pressure now
Massive escape as Vuckic fluffs glorious chance. Revell knocks down Skarz cross to the unmarked sub - who tries to chip McLaughlin from ten yards and clears the bar!
Three quarters of the job done for City.
Vuckic sets up Tavernier in corner of box but McLaughlin saves from defender
First sub of the night as Vuckic - who scored the Rotherham winner on Boxing Day - replaces Adams
Two portly fellas are shown out the ground by the stewards...
Atmosphere has cranked up - City's 1,115 followers more than playing their part
Very loud chant of Always Remember the 56 in the 56th minute
Reach almost in on goal but his shot with weaker right foot is blocked by Collin
End to end now as Adams wins a corner for the hosts
Dolan's corner is punched back to him and his first-time cross blocked by Skarz
Tricky footwork from Bennett to make room for a decent shot which deflects over. City's first corner and the away fans behind that goal respond
Bennett cross finds it way through to Reach who takes a chest to control before volleying wide across goal
O'Connor's free-kick from 35 yards out curled into middle, beats everyone and hits the post before Arnason follow-up deflects wide.
Early free-kick for Rotherham - and it's hit the post!
Deafening blast of New York, New York herald Rotherham's kick-off. Give it a rest, Sinatra...
Teams back out for the second half. Forty five minutes of the same would do nicely
Interviewer asked him about going to Wembley if Rotherham get there... he said he's going Sunday to watch Sheffield United- his team!
Footballer turned boxer Curtis Woodhouse being presented to the crowd
The tactics are right, but Stead isn't mobile enough to play on his own upfront #bcafc— @BrianAustin75 11 April 2014
The skipper has been great tonight. Busy. #bcafc— @aaronbower 11 April 2014
Half a job done, 0-0 at half-time
But enough time for a Rotherham corner... which comes to nothing
One minute of added time
Parkinson furious that no foul given as Arnason climbs all over Stead to win header
Drury catches Adams late with sliding challenge and goes into the book.
It's an action replay of the first corner as McLaughlin again catches with ease
Pringle curls it deep and McArdle outjumps the red shirts to concede corner
Reach foul five yards outside the box - danger here for the Bantams
Getting too deep now, going to keep offering opportunities. Could do with half time. #bcafc— @AidanFlood 11 April 2014
Two good pieces of defending from Davies to keep Agard at bay but City starting to get pushed back
Phew that was close! Agard wiggles into room for a scuffed shot and Revell is only a couple of shoe sizes away from turning it in
Looking good boys #bcafc— @Juicy1s 11 April 2014
Rotherham trying to up the tempo as Adams whizzes a cross-shot through the six-yard box
Pringle suddenly comes to life, drifting in from the right to test McLaughlin with a well-struck drive. The keeper parries and Revell puts the rebound over
Few grumbles among the home fans...
One or two shirts off in the City end.. well they are in the south (of Yorkshire)
Dolan tries to release Reach on left flank but just underhits the pass
Not much pattern to the game. City won't mind that - looking fairly solid so far
First serious questions for City defence. O'Connor shot blocked, McArdle heads out cross and Rotherham force first corner.... which McLaughlin claims
Darby's long free-kick is flicked on by Davies and Stead hooks volley over. Decent effort from City
Stead shoots on the turn from the edge of the Rotherham box but there's no power behind it
Revell's low drive comfortably saved by McLaughlin. First shot on target in the game
To put the curse of doom on it, city have started ok. #bcafc— @BaconBantam 11 April 2014
Evans makes his first public appearance of the night. Surprisingly, he's complaining about a refereeing decision
Good noise being generated by the City fans. Need the team to feed off that energy - so far nothing in it out there
Reach jumps out of a challenge with Morgan...
Pringle cross into the danger zone flicked away by Drury
RT @ParkerTandA: West Yorkshire in South Yorkshire.... #bcafc away end tonight http://t.co/pcJLqgnm4r— @LizzCrompton 11 April 2014
Good distance between the dug-outs - handy that. Paul Raynor, Rotherham number two, has his arms outstretched like a permanent Spitfire
The first anti-Evans chant from the City fans as Bennett lofts a shot high and well wide
City get us going, defending the end occupied by the away fans
A mighty roar greets the whistle and we're ready to go
The teams are out.... The game kicks off at 7.52 after a minute's silence to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster
Stephen Darby baby booms from the away end. They'll do well to make themselves heard above this PA system!
@aaronbower I want #rufc to win because I want them to go up. #bcafc season is over now— @Brano1979 11 April 2014

Come on you Bulls and Bantams, 2 wins tonight please! #bcafc #bradfordbulls— @DazWheelhouse 11 April 2014
Just been told that Rotherham have won pitch of the year in League One so no excuses on that front...
Rotherham make two changes from the defeat at Sheffield United on Tuesday - their first loss since New Year's Day.
Nicky Adams comes in for Tom Hitchcock so Kieran Agard, who scored two in the FA Cup tie, moves up front.
Michael O'Connor replaces Rob Milsom in central midfield.
ROTHERHAM: Collin, Tavernier, Arnason, Morgan, Skarz, Adams, Smallwood, O'Connor, Pringle, Revell, Agard. Subs: Brindley, Davis, Milsom, Thomas, Vuckic, Hitchcock, Shearer.
To all Brentford fans looking forward to us beating Rotherham to aide their quest for promotion I'm truly sorry #bcafc— @Kenzie1975 11 April 2014
Nathan Doyle is back in for City after missing the last four games with a groin injury.
But there is no Aaron Mclean who picked up a hamstring problem in training on Wednesday.
So City will switch to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 approach with Stead leading the line and Adam Reach and Kyle Bennett on either side.
CITY: McLaughlin, Darby, McArdle, Davies, Drury, Doyle, Dolan, Jones, Bennett, Reach, Stead. Subs: Thompson, Yeates, McHugh, Bates, De Vita, McBurnie, Barker.
Good evening and welcome from the New York Stadium as City try to end their Rotherham hoodoo.
It's six games, six defeats under Phil Parkinson against the Millers - and no goals scored in the last five.
And don't even mention the Steve Evans factor.... Could tonight be the night, finally??!
