Bradford Bulls 24, Salford Red Devils 38
Rangi Chase was the tormentor-in-chief for Salford to leave the Bulls rooted the foot of the table on minus two points.
The England playmaker was at the heart of all the Red Devils’ best moves as they opened up a 22-6 interval lead.
There was no way back for Bradford thereafter on a bitterly frustrating night during which supporters vented their frustration at referee Phil Bentham.
New Salford boss Iestyn Harris saw his men open the scoring in the fifth minute when Jake Mullaney finished strongly in the left corner after good work by Chase and Gareth Hock.
The Bulls replied when Adrian Purtell finished from close range but Salford, with Chase increasingly influential, grabbed three more first-half tries.
Junior Sa’u went over from close range and Tim Smith then took Chase’s pass to score before Matty Ashurst grabbed a fourth on the stroke of half-time.
Bradford replied after the restart through ex-Salford prop Adam Sidlow but Tony Puletua, Chase and Francis Meli scored further tries for the visitors.
That rendered efforts from Elliot Kear and Adam Henry mere consolation for the home supporters.

Strong line-up for the Bulls tonight. Three props on the bench in Mullally, Fakir and Sidlow (Walker & Manuokafoa starting front-rowers)...
Bulls coach Francis Cummins has included skipper Matt Diskin and stand-off Lee Gaskell in his starting line-up for this evening's visit of Salford Red Devils.
Cummins received a triple injury boost during midweek, with news that Diskin (ankle), Gaskell (knee) and front-rower Adam Sidlow (ankle) would be fit to make their returns tonight.
And all three are to feature, with Gaskell making his first appearance since the middle of February.
Joining Diskin in the front row are props Manase Manuokafoa and Chev Walker, with Matty Blythe, Dale Ferguson – making his first Super League appearance for the club – and James Donaldson.
The backline includes Brett Kearney, Elliot Kear, Adam Henry, Adrian Purtell and Jamie Foster, with the returning Gaskell joining vice-captain Luke Gale in the halves.
Boss Cummins has named a powerful interchange bench, which features a trio of front-row forwards in the shape of Anthony Mullally, Adam Sidlow and France international Jamal Fakir.

Victory for Francis Cummins' men would take them to zero points, wiping out their six-point penalty for entering administration, and could lift them off the bottom of the table...
Welcome to the Provident Stadium for tonight's Super League clash between Bradford Bulls and Salford Red Devils...
