Huddersfield Central League club Upper Hopton have been accepted into the Foster’s Halifax League for the 2015 season.
The Mirfield side, who have fielded teams in the Halifax Junior League, were voted in 24-7 at the senior league’s meeting at Pellon Social Club.
The ideal scenario for the Halifax League are three divisions of 12 and Upper Hopton’s inclusion will bring the total to 31, with former Craven League club Cullingworth due to make their debut later this month.
Meanwhile, Andrew Pinfield of Jer Lane has become the new manager of the league team. He takes over from Wayne Cotton, who has joined Thornton.
