Friends of Bradford City are putting their shirts on fans helping them out with a new project at Valley Parade.

The support group want to display every club jersey – home and away – from the 1970s to the present day in a massive exhibition at the ground.

Professional photographer Neil Bedford, a London-based City fan, has made his personal collection boasting more than 60 shirts available for the display.

The intention is to frame them and get supporters to sponsor a permanent display within Valley Parade.

But there are a few gaps in the collection and the Friends are hoping that fans might be able to come to the rescue.

There are currently seven shirts missing from 1968-69, 1972-73, 1973-74, 1975-76 FA Cup quarter-final, 1975-77, 1977-78 and 1979-81. Details are available from admin@friendsofbcfc.com.

Friends chairman Mark Neale said: “It’s quite an exciting project and will form a legacy which we are hoping supporters will buy into.

“We are offering the opportunity for fans, family groups or commercial organisations to choose a shirt and sponsor it.

“They can choose a season that is significant to them, so it could be their first, a promotion one or just about the kit itself.

“We are hoping to formally launch the project soon and are planning an event which will be attended by players from over five decades.”

Sponsors will be able to have a specially-worded plaque included in the framing and FoBC are even considering featuring the words of relevant chants on the wall around the shirts.
