Adam Lyth continued his excellent pre-season form with another century against Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities at Headingley today.

The Yorkshire opener hit a ton on last month’s pre-season tour of Sri Lanka and this was also his second three-figure score against the students in two years after a big second-innings knock last year.

In reply to 139, the hosts reached lunch at 209-2 from 57 overs, having started the second day at 94-1.

The only wicket to fall was that of Jack Leaning, caught at square-leg pulling a Zafir Patel long hop to leave the score at 123-2.

Gary Ballance took lunch at 42 not out, with his first 20 runs coming in boundary fours.

He and Lyth, who resumed this afternoon on 104, had shared 86 unbroken for the third wicket.
