A goal inside the opening five minutes set Senior B division leaders Farsley Celtic Juniors on target for a 3-0 home win over Yorkshire Amateur League title rivals Wigton Moor.

Liam Cannon and Andy Cooper combined to set up Luke Gordon for the early strike, with Ryan Collett and 16-year-old Joe Firth wrapping up the contest late on.

The victory leaves Farsley four points clear of both Stanningley Old Boys and Wigton, who have played two more matches than the top duo.

St Bede’s are still deep in relegation danger just one place off the bottom after a 1-0 home defeat to fourth-placed Leeds Medics & Dentists Reserves. Sverrir Kristinsson scored the only goal in the 35th minute.

Old Modernians remain in the Senior A section bottom two after failing to trouble leaders Gildersome Spurs OB.

It finished 4-0 to the unbeaten visitors, although that was an improvement for Old Mods after losing the reverse fixture 10-0. Ben Keedy, Matt Jackson, Steve Wales and substitute Mike Hall scored this time.

Grangefield OB kept up the pressure in second place, six points behind Spurs, with a narrow 3-2 win at Stanningley OB.

Gary Allen’s opener for the hosts was not cancelled out until the 73rd minute when Nick Smith netted a penalty. James McGeorge restored Stanningley’s lead but Ritchie Banks and a second Smith spot-kick settled the outcome.

Old Mods Reserves suffered a shock 3-2 home defeat to improving Division Two basement boys Bainbridge. Hugo Sach netted both Mods goals.

The mid-table battle between Grangefield OB Reserves and St Bede’s Reserves finished level at 1-1, a big difference from Grangefield’s 9-0 win earlier in the season. Jerome Yewdall’s goal ensured Saints’ seventh game without defeat.

Chris Cookson’s equaliser meant third-bottom Calverley United Reserves earned a handy Division Three point from a 1-1 home draw against leaders Old Batelians Reserves.
