Abdullah Aswat had a superb match as he guided Savile Youth to a 5-1 win at fellow strugglers Fairbank United in the Spen Valley League.
Aswat scored all five of his side’s goals as they boosted their chances of climbing out of the Premier Division bottom two.
Youth are now level on points with third-bottom Abundant Life Church, who crashed 7-3 at mid-table Ravensthorpe Bulls.
Paul Beaumont scored a hat-trick for the Bulls and Dominic Simpson netted twice, while Aaron Irving doubled up in reply.
Girlington could still be dragged into the relegation fight after slumping 6-1 at home to TVR United, for whom Asif Iqbal struck twice.
At the other end of the table, Vision climbed to second place above opponents BD3 United after beating them 4-3 as Mohammed Uzair’s double counted for nothing.
Division One champions elect Marsh continued their unbeaten record with a 3-2 win at closest rivals Savile United, with Mark Wigley’s hat-trick proving decisive.
