Grangefield Old Boys are through to the Terry Marflitt Trophy final for the first time after a 3-0 victory over North East Leeds.

The Yorkshire Amateur League top-flight rivals are at opposite ends of the table and the result went to form, with Grangefield setting up a clash with fellow Section A side Ealandians in the trophy decider.

Grant Jackson opened the scoring with a 20th-minute penalty and Ritchie Banks doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time, before Matty Dalton’s first goal for the club completed the tally late on.

League action saw Farsley Celtic Juniors take what could prove a decisive step in the Senior B Division title race as they crushed fellow high-fliers Stanningley OB Reserves 5-1.

Stanningley would have moved top themselves with a win but instead Farsley retained pole position as they made it 11 games without defeat.

Sam Bradley, Andy Cooper and Luke Gordon all scored before Luke Harrop reduced the deficit but a Craig Farrand penalty and Ben Cook wrapped up the points.

Calverley United edged out Shire Academics 1-0 in a mid-table battle that was decided by Tom Westerman’s goal just after the hour mark.

Second-bottom St Bede’s struggle to avoid the drop was not helped by a 4-3 defeat at Rodillian, who are now safe. Kyle McGinnis, Danny Williamson and Ty Akram were on target for Saints.

St Bede’s Reserves fared better with a 3-1 win, their sixth game without defeat, as they overtook opponents Woodkirk Valley to move eighth in Division Two courtesy of James Boyle’s hat-trick.

Grangefield OB Reserves lost by the same score at home to second-placed Almondburians, who had trailed to Simon Yeadon’s goal.

Daniel Sullivan’s hat-trick steered Heckmondwike GSOB to a 5-3 win against Old Modernians Thirds in Division Three.
