Farsley-based Leeds Karate Academy members have been bringing home the medals.
Mell Finlay received two silvers at the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Championships in Sheffield, losing a close decision in the -61kg kumite final when the bout ended at 7-7.
Meanwhile, assistant club instructor Tom Little had a great day at the UK United All Styles Open in Dudley, taking bronze in the -75kg kumite, while Kids Club member Ben Miller from Rawdon, competing for the first time, earned a bronze at the JKS Kids Competition in Nottingham.
Club instructor Matt Price, a former world champion, said: “It’s fantastic that these three have gone out and brought back medals for the clubs. I’m very proud of all of them.”
