Right on Cue

Bradford’s billiards team crashed to a 7-0 defeat against rampant hosts Huddersfield No 1 in the Yorkshire Inter-District League.

Matthew Peaker was soon into his stride with a break of 74 against John McEachran, and an unfinished break of 44 took him to a 200-78 victory over the Bradford player.

Steve Wilman, deputising for the unavailable Stephen Kershaw, kept close to Steve Whiteley in the early stages but a break of 39 pulled the Huddersfield man clear and, despite a run of 34, Wilman fell short by 200-146.

Dave Peaker almost emulated his son with an early break of 65, which gave him the confidence to power away from Paul Devitt for a 200-113 scoreline which wrapped up the Huddersfield whitewash.
