Bolton Woods Rangers under-16s strengthened their grip on the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Division B title with a 2-0 victory over Bingley Juniors.

Connor Dean struck first in the 22nd minute but mid-table Bingley ensured a nailbiting match would go down to the wire with a resilient performance.

It wasn’t until the 80th minute that Rangers sealed the points and calmed frayed nerves when Calvin Boyce struck the decisive second goal.

Rangers remain unbeaten this season after 11 games and are five points clear at the top, with two games in hand over second-placed Crosshills.

There were chances for both teams in the first half. Rhys Sanasy cleared off the line for the Raptors before Skipton opened the scoring just before the break.

Early in second half Vincent Henderson equalised with a shot from inside the box. Raptors then took the lead from the penalty spot through Henderson.

A shot by Louis Price deflected off the post and goalkeeper to make it 3-1.

Five minutes before the end, Skipton got a second goal and they piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser.

In the final few seconds a last-ditch tackle by James Hebb saved the Raptors.

Dudley Hill Rangers under-eights Blues travelled to Baildon Trinity Athletics’ second string and goals from Adam Morris (2), Luke Jeffreys (2), Josh Whitford (2) and Riley Nelson secured a 7-2 win.

Goals from Dominic Parish and Joel Beaumont were not enough as the under-nines’ rich vein of form ended in a 5-2 defeat at Keighley Shamrocks.

An in-form goalkeeper and a lack of clinical edge contributed to their downfall.

Baildon Trinity Dynamos put in a solid display against a strong Keighley Shamrocks side.

Alfie Turner gave the Dynamos the lead and Connor Holmes was outstanding in goal to keep Keighley out. Rory Holmes put the Dynamos 2-0 up before the break.

Stand-out performers were Harvey Menzies, Ben Cockcroft, Hamish McCallum and Max Paterson.

Dudley Hill under-tens played their best football of the season in the first half to hold joint leaders Sutton Juniors to a 1-1 draw.

Spencer Dunk equalised after Karlson Ogie had opened up the Sutton rearguard with a pinpoint pass.

But Rangers failed to keep their early momentum as Sutton controlled long periods before running out 2-1 winners.

With the last kick of the game, Anton Tavernier crashed a long-range effort onto the underside of the crossbar which bounced onto the goal-line and into the grateful arms of the Sutton keeper.

Jordan Styslo pulled one back after getting on the end of a corner from Alex Taylor-McKeown.

Shortly after Roberto McFarlane scored to spark hopes of a comeback but Kirkheaton scored a fourth with their first shot of the second half and it knocked the wind out of Warriors.

The visitors sealed the game with a further strike five minutes from time to win 5-2.

Taylor-McKeown was named man of the match.
