Queensbury struggled initially in their Championship encounter with King Cross Park before running out 30-4 winners.

With a strong wind behind them and playing downhill, Bury found the going tough as King Cross attacked continuously.

However a try from Andy Walker broke the deadlock before Jack Evison went on to touch down just before the break.

Bury looked more organised playing uphill and took the upper hand thanks to two excellent Jon Farr tries. Dan Hawksworth also got on the try-list.

Sam Cheeney picked up the man of the match award and young Nathan Ridehouse impressed on his first outing.

Odsal Sedbergh held on to fourth spot in Division One following an exhilarating 28-28 draw against rivals West Leeds.

West Bowling crashed out of the Pennine President’s Cup 42-4 at Drighlington.

Bowling started strongly, with veteran forwards Nigel Halmshaw and Lee Hutchinson marauding down the slope, backed by a heavy wind.

However, despite plenty of ball, Bowling were unable to break the Drig defence and turned around 12 points adrift.

Bowling opened the second-half scoring when Jason Marshall dived over.

However, the later double sin-binning of Sha Basha and Jack Milburn quickly put an end to Bowling’s cup aspirations. Prop Connor Wood was the stand-out man for Bowling.
