Wigan Warriors forward Greg Burke has become the latest addition to the Bulls’ squad after arriving on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old, who can operate in the front and back row, made 17 appearances for his hometown club last term.

Francis Cummins could hand a debut to Burke and fellow new recruit Liam Sutcliffe when the Bulls travel to Hull FC on Friday.

Head coach Cummins said: “Greg is a player I’ve known for a long time and he’s an impressive young forward. He is someone I have looked to bring here in the past on loan and I am very excited about what he might produce over the next few weeks or so.

“We believe he will prove a real handful for the opposition and he certainly adds a huge amount to our pack.

“I would like to thank Wigan Warriors and Shaun Wane for allowing him to come to us for a period. We hope to see him further improve with us.”

Burke came off the bench for Wigan in Sunday’s home win over Wakefield. Warriors coach Shaun Wane said: “This is a good opportunity for Greg to gain some regular football at the highest level.

“He will come back to us in a month’s time with some Super League game-time under his belt.

“Greg is a valuable member of our playing squad but at the moment I can’t promise him a regular place in the side.

“But I think that both him and the ulls will benefit from this agreement.”

Burke has started training with the Bulls ahead of Friday’s trip to the KC Stadium, where victory would see them wipe out their six-point penalty after just four rounds.
