Bradford Park Avenue 0 Vauxhall Motors 0

Avenue’s 30th league game of the season was their first goalless draw of the campaign.

It was a poor first half at Horsfall Stadium, with few chances at either end.

The visitors were marginally the better side in the early exchanges but Avenue grew into the game and looked the most likely to score before the interval.

Bradford boss John Deacey tried to inject some urgency into his side by making changes early in second half. The manager bravely went for a double substitution, replacing his son Jordan and Adam Clayton with Jamie Price and recent signing Jimmy Eyles.

He made another change soon after, sending Chris Howarth on for Chib Chilaka.

The Motormen adapted well and enjoyed another spell on the front foot but without really threatening home keeper John Lamb.

Avenue defender Ryan Qualter could have won it late on with a header from a corner but it was straight at the visitors’ keeper.

Avenue stay above Vauxhall Motors in the Conference North table but on goal difference only.

Guiseley will be hoping to continue their climb up the table in the same division tonight with a rearranged home game against Leamington.

The Lions, who are currently in 12th place, are just above their visitors and could be overtaken if Leamington win by two clear goals.

Mark Bower’s men will not be thinking about that as they aim to go joint tenth with a home victory.

In a busy night of non-league action, four of the area’s other clubs also have league games.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division, Thackley have a home fixture while Liversedge and Albion Sports are on the road.

Thackley host Garforth Town in a derby clash while Sedge travel to Glasshoughton Welfare and Albion journey to Worksop Parramore.

In the North West Counties top tier, Silsden head to Cheshire to take on West Didsbury & Chorlton.
