Bradford Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul confident of RFL ratification

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Robbie Hunter-Paul Robbie Hunter-Paul

Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul today said he was “extremely confident” the club’s change of ownership would be ratified by the RFL.

As exclusively revealed in today’s Telegraph & Argus, the current board of directors, under the guise of Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd, have had their bid for the club accepted by Leeds-based administrator David Wilson.

Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd fought off competition from London-based businessman Richard Lamb and two other groups, including key figures from Bradford Park Avenue and Bradford City, also expressed an interest in taking control.

But the current board’s bid was deemed by Wilson as the best on offer and they will now await ratification from the governing body.

Hunter-Paul said: "We are delighted that our offer has been accepted by David Wilson and are now approaching the final stages in the change of ownership of Bradford Bulls.

"The position of the board of directors of Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd has always been to be open with supporters and stakeholders and that is why we are making an effort to update everyone concerned with precise and accurate information.

"The RFL's board of directors must now take a view on our offer, our plans for the future and the way in which we intend to work with creditors going forward.

"Despite recent reports, the ownership of the club now has to be approved by the governing body.

"There are right and proper protocols to follow and a due process which is still to take place.

"But we are extremely confident that we will receive ratification in the near future, handing us the right to operate in the sport's top flight.

"The first step was to offer the best deal for the club – and we have done that. The next is to get the nod from the RFL.

"We hope our supporters can appreciate the hard work that is going on here at The Provident Stadium, across all departments, to ensure a successful future for the Bulls.

"We believe we are close to a conclusion on the matter of ownership. That in itself is hugely pleasing.

"It was great to see the boys pull off such a vital victory last night. They gave it everything and got what they deserved.

"My message, to the fans, is it continue their fantastic support. We will take this club back to where it belongs."

If Mr Lamb was keen to have his name associated with our brand during the bid process maybe he will be as keen to develop his association in our brand moving forward? Lets be honest you don't own a Super League team for the profit its surely for love or ego stroking!!

Congratulations to Robbie and the board.
Hope you have some money making projects in the pipeline to allow Fanny to increase the squad, extend the loan periods of the loan players for a start.

Now look forward to some stability after RFL announce number of points to be deducted. Hope its only 2 as have said "working with creditors", but most likely 4 inline with precedence set by Wakefield administration. Can't remember how many London got, perhaps someone can remind me.
RFL should remember they have to be seen to be fair and reasonable and not vindictive thereby earning some respect from the fans for a change. Some hope!

Idiot.
Park Avenue have little money.

Read the associated articles.

They are connected to an oil industry magnate with strong historic family Bradford connections and other wealthier Bradford Sports loving success stories who had only the Bulls long tem survival interest at heart.
NO land interest
Bulls only have a 30 year lease now thanks to HOOD.

These 4 also have that interest at heart.
And one Andrew Calvert has worked unstintingly for 5 months to try save the sinking ship.

And deserve support going forward.

About 10000 of you every week to survive.

If the 4 don't get that it will be as much the floating fans fault the club fails to suirvive.

SO SUPPORT NOW MORE THAN EVER

Not sure there TVOR.

Thought it was by debenture on OK Bulls Limited Assets.
Which now apparently did not include the CORAL stand.
Despite Guilfoye offering it for sale.
Personal guarantee by OK maybe.

But what good is that with your best mates heading up the council exec from NEW LABOUR.

The silence from Bradford Council is deafening.

In addition to the "loan" OK has wracked up another £111000 in debt to the council tax payer.
So what on earth are they doing down there at Town Hall??

Laying off staff and cutting support and services the vulnerable and poor and allowing this.

That's at least £311000 owed to the local taxpayer.
Plus interest If indeed an was negotiated as part of the arrangement.

OK has gone.
He has milked publicity for his restaurants.
Oh sorry when fined £20000 for hygeine offences shortly after gaining control of the Bulls it was someone elses restaurant.

You could not make this up at a time Bradford Council are announcing 1.99 per cent increases in council tax.
Could we Messrs Sutclife Green Thornton Greenwood?
Or indeed anyone associated with this sad and sorry "secret" shady deal

Do not try hide behind "commercial sensitivity".
This is a disgrace.
