JCT600 Bradford League player Luke Jarvis is part of the MCC squad that are currently touring Singapore and Malaysia.

East Bierley spinner Jarvis is in a playing party of 13 which will be led by Bob Baxter and captained by former Lancashire batsman Mark Chilton.

The party departed for Kuala Lumpur last on Saturday morning and are scheduled to play five games, the first of which was a 50-over match against the Malaysia Cricket Association on Tuesday at the Kinrara Oval.

This game kicked off a five-game round-robin tournament between the MCC, Malaysia Cricket Association and Singapore Cricket Association, with the top two sides meeting again in a final on Sunday.

The tour will finish with the showpiece 50-over match against Singapore Cricket Club at Padang Cricket Ground before an evening reception.

MCC president Mike Gatting, who gave the party a pre-tour send-off on Saturday, said: “Luke is part of a very strong MCC squad that we are sending out to Singapore and Malaysia – some with minor counties and MCC University playing experience.

"I’m sure this tour will prove extremely beneficial to our squad and the increasing number of cricketers in Singapore and Malaysia.

“MCC has visited these two great countries on a number of occasions in the past, and I’m confident our presence there can help continue to develop the game of cricket in 2014.”

The full MCC squad to tour Singapore and Malaysia is: Bob Baxter (coach), Mark Chilton (Bowdon CC), Eddie Ballard (Bishops Stortford CC, Hertfordshire CCC), Andrew Clarke (MCC Young Cricketers), Edward Kilbee (Goatacre CC, Wiltshire CCC), George Harper (High Wycombe CC, Buckinghamshire CCC), Harry Horsley (Coventry & North Warwickshire CC), Gareth James (Brentwood CC, Cambridge MCCU), Luke Jarvis (East Bierley CC), James Kerr (Carlton CC), Jonathan McLean (Radlett CC, Berkshire CCC), Jack Porter (Richmond CC), Angus Stewart (Preston Nomads CC, Sussex Academy), Reinhardt Strydom (Dublin CC, Ireland), Michael Burns (umpire, Somerset).
