A small squad of City of Bradford members competed in the prestigious ASA Northern Area Zonal Meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, and Eva Chapman was in the spotlight with a silver medal and three other top-ten finishes.

Swimming in the 14 years and under age group for the North East, her runner-up berth came in the 800 metres freestyle, and she was also sixth in the 400m in 4min 37.24sec, which was a second national qualifying time for this year's National Championships.

Her other top-ten finishes came in the 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle.

Sam Lawman, competing in the 17 years and over events, claimed silver in the 50m backstroke, ninth place in the 100m and seventh in the 50m butterfly.

Other top-ten finishers were Beth Meer, Abigail Shuttleworth and Azura Cairns Poole.

City's other qualifiers were Millie Foulds, Neve Godfrey-Clark, Jasmine Hanson, Megan Anderton, Josh Holdsworth, James Blaby, Jordan Tate, Freddy Hoban and Cameron Walker.

All swimmers train with Bradford Aquatics Competition Programme under the guidance of coaches Andy Pearce and Sarah Fisher.
