BRADFORD CITY AA

With the weather wet and windy, and with rivers high, there have been few members out fishing and no remarkable catches to report. Six anglers braved bitterly cold and windy weather at Staveley Lakes on Saturday to fish the club’s Bradford Telegraph & Argus Trophy match. Bags were small as a result. The winner was Steve Fox with a net of skimmers for 3lb 4oz, with Gordon Fennell runner-up with 2lb 12oz. In the absence of good fishing weather, committee members have taken opportunities to make plans for work parties on club fisheries and stocking of fish into BCAA waters ready for the new season. Yearbooks are still available to both last year’s members and potential new members. Details of costs and BCAA fishing can be found on the club’s website at www.bradfordcityaa.co.uk, or by calling membership secretary Jim Munden on 07940-814431. Members may join either at agents or via the trial online shop through links from the club website. The next club open match will be at Boroughbridge on Sunday, February 16. Spaces can still be booked via match secretary Rod Brooksbank on 07875-275749.

BRADFORD No1 AA

Cowthorpe will be closed on Sunday for an open match, with tickets still available from Simon on 01274-571175. Widdington Hall will also be closed on Saturday for an outside booking. Raskelf Lake is fishing very well for F1s, ide and roach, with nets of over 80lb being caught on feeder. Membership for 2014 is still available from all the usual outlets. Visit www.bradfordno1.com for more details. Milby Cut is worth a visit this coming week for roach and perch on maggot or bread punch.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

LISTERHILLS AA

Last week’s match at Pilley’s was won by E Harrison with a bream weighing 5lb 10z. This was well clear of R East, W Barker and D Stephenson. A set of scales has been found on the bank. To claim them call 07998-4597328 and give a description. Some litter has started to be left, including sweet corn tins. It is against club rules to bring any bait in tins onto the bank.

HEWENDEN AC

The next coarse match is on Sunday, with a 9am draw in the car park. It costs £10 all in and all members are welcome. If there are any proposals for the annual meeting, they should be sent in writing to the PO Box address in the club book before March 1.

BINGLEY AC
