And there go the bongs of big Ben which can only mean one thing.... Jim White go home!
City will look for a left back and probably another central midfielder when the emergency loan window reopens in a week.
Thanks for sticking with the blog, sorry I never did get Lionel Messi to Manningham...
@ParkerTandA but it was in today Sun… about him returning to his spiritual home of Yorkshire… Got his name on my shirt & everything now— @iammattbrookes 31 January 2014
Wolves have made a late signing to bring in young defender Kortney Hause from Wycombe. But he has missed the deadline to play against City.
So have there been any earth-shattering, dramatic deals today??
This time last year we were playing the Jason Kennedy okey-cokey. He's in, he's out, he's in, he's out.... rewrote that back page story four times in space of an hour!
PP gunna sign that LB and CM? #bcafc #TransferDeadlineDay— @FaheemFish 31 January 2014
Into the final hour. Jim White really is the master of making much ado about absolutely nothing....
@ParkerTandA make something up we dont care.... #bcafc— @IndridColder 31 January 2014
Also looks like Halifax have held on to star striker Lee Gregory despite strong interest from Crawley and Notts County.
He was a name on City's long list of possible targets if they had not landed Aaron Mclean.
Just over an hour to go but get the impression that there might not be any announcement from VP towers.
But then there's always the loan window again next week.
Come on @ParkerTandA, Sky have raised the bar now. We want live phone interviews whilst @RaffaDeVita20 and @carlmacaoidh6 have their tea!— @KeithWildman 31 January 2014
Shows the difference in the attitudes and the long term version for the club. Wasn't long ago at all that that would have been us #bcafc— @BcfcBrad1903 31 January 2014
PS I don't think City are one of the six clubs who've contacted Ross McCormack's "people" since he went live on Sky...
Got a feeling that even if City do make a late signing, it won't be the biggest football story in these parts...
Come on PP, 3 hours to go.... #bcafc— @Jamesbcafc_ 31 January 2014
Bit disappointed I haven't attracted an entourage outside the ground like those Sky reporters.... Come on people, where are ya??!
@ParkerTandA are you camped outside VP Simon?— @kruger8513 31 January 2014
I used to have Aaron Jameson on MSN, that's my transfer deadline trivia for the day #bcafc— @jwscargill 31 January 2014
Something could still happen with City before 11pm. Then again....
But I do know they are trying. Believe their efforts are in midfield as Phil Parkinson suggested in the T&A this morning.
With Jameson on board, that seems to scotch the rumour from down south about Shwan Jalal at Bournemouth.
But the keeper, who had a couple of days up here training, is still cropping up. Wouldn't be surprised if he could be in the thinking over the longer term.
Wages freed up.... Need a attacking mid and left back preferably, doubt we'll get any permanently. #bcafc— @Jamesbcafc_ 31 January 2014
City have done some business....... Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Arron Jameson's loan has just been extended for the rest of the season!!
I believe there have been talks with someone and there is still time. But if it's going to be a loan, they've always got the emergency window in a week's time as Phil Parkinson keeps stating.
@ParkerTandA Is it too late to think we might be signing some1 simon are we trying?— @jono12b 31 January 2014
Surprised to see Curtis Good head to Dundee on loan. Thought PP might have moved for him again, still developing and highly rated #bcafc— @BantamDan_ 31 January 2014
Still all quiet on this Western Yorkshire front but sounds a bit livelier just down the road. Sky reporting Leeds have rejected £4 million bid for Ross McCormack.
All the best to Alan Connell, Ricky Ravenhill and Luke Oliver. IMO all fully committed to the cause during their time here. Respect! #bcafc— @howker11 31 January 2014
Getting a bit sick of the #bcafc tweets saying departing players have been treated badly. Its a business not a charity.— @djscully2001 31 January 2014
I fully expect a permanent signing today with the wages freed up last 2 days. Will be disappointed if not. Pref a att mid. #bcafc— @BantamFirth 31 January 2014
The City team are on the bus on their way to the West Midlands. No new faces spotted in the squad.
Perhaps I should have delivered that in Sky Sports News stylee....
Breaking News: No signings at Bradford City, we can reveal
(but maybe later, you never know)
No new updates on the City midfield possibility. Still in "maybe" territory.
Could not be a permanent signing now to feature tomorrow because midday deadline has passed. But Phil Parkinson said in T&A today that "likelihood would be loans".
Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has signed for Crystal Palace. Not that he would have played against City - he's been benched since refusing to play earlier this month.
From what I've just been told, Cedric Evina is NOT bound for Valley Parade. He may have been one of many names mentioned for the left back vacancy but nothing more than that
City have confirmed that Luke Oliver's contract has been cancelled.
It allows the former player of the year to become a free agent and I'm hearing he is expected to join Forest Green in the Conference.
Cameroonian left back Cedric Evina from Charlton is the latest name to be linked with City.
@bantamsbanter Phil Parkinson linked with vacant England cricket coach role? #bcafc— @mjkyorkshire 31 January 2014
..... but obviously they'd have to be signed by 11pm tonight
Just a reminder that any loan signings can play tomorrow providing they are registered by three hours before. That's midday in old money
"Something might happen" is the strongest hint I've been given about a possible midfield arrival.
Middlesbrough's Matty Dolan has been linked but no name being mentioned.
Again, without sounding like a stuck record, there's always the emergency loan market which opens again in a week from now.
City still trying to sign a left back and looking at various options. But impression I got from conversation recently is can't see that happening today.
One from yesterday: Former City striker Mark Stewart has signed for Derry City after being released by Kilmarnock.
Only newsworthy because this time next week, the Bantams will finally found out how much they will have to shell out to Falkirk for his "training compensation".
If we're going to loan players in I want it to because we're looking to buy them #bcafc— @JammyBantam 31 January 2014
Kevin Doyle won't be at Molineux tomorrow. The Wolves striker in London finalising loan move to QPR
I put Dolan's name to the club recently and they denied it. Seems there might be some genuine mileage in this one.
Dolan spent three months on loan at Hartlepool and did very well. Colin Cooper was keen to sign him.
According to the Hartlepool Mail, Middlesbrough's Matty Dolan is the midfielder that City are chasing.
Curtis Good has gone on loan to Dundee United. Parky should of gone for him #bcafc— @matty_parsons 31 January 2014
RT @LeeClayton_: Part-time electrician Lee Gregory has taken a day off work to secure a move from Halifax to either Blackburn or Notts Co (…— @OwenRHarrison 31 January 2014
Expecting to hear that Luke Oliver has moved on pretty soon.
Connell and Ricky Ravenhill both expected to start for Northampton at Cheltenham tomorrow - if the pitch beats the wet weather down there.
Connell joined the Cobblers yesterday for the rest of the season and Ravenhill signed an 18-month deal.
Just written up a long interview with Alan Connell for tomorrow's T&A. Talks about his frustration at not playing enough for City but also his pride at being part of a season that "will never happen again in my lifetime".
C.Ronaldo cleaners cousin spotted in Bradford. Possible 1 month loan for CR7. Harry Redknapp commented "great signing for Bantams" #bcafc— @BantamsBlog 31 January 2014
Tomorrow's opponents Wolves have been busy.
Wayne Hennessey, Lee Griffiths and Kevin Doyle all look likely to leave Molineux today.
But they are hardly down to the "bare bones" just yet after recruiting strikers Leon Clarke and Nouha Dicko.
The left back hunt is still on but it won't be Ian Harte.
There were reports from Bournemouth that the Leeds veteran was on Phil Parkinson's hit list but the City boss dismissed that.
Matthew Bates will play there again tomorrow at Wolves unless anything changes.
Ian Harte: Anybody know if there's any truth in the Ian Harte link? http://t.co/Ijhm2qS9E9 #bcafc— @claretandbanter 31 January 2014
City are considering whether to bring in another central midfielder following Ricky Ravenhill's move to Northampton.
But they are happy with the number of strikers so there won't be any one coming in up front to replace Alan Connell.
I spoke to Phil Parkinson first thing this morning and he's "not sure" if City will be doing any business today.
He repeated that they have the option of the emergency loan window reopening in a week's time when you can take players for up to three months.
@ParkerTandA You heard anything about a last day signing?— @jonnyjonny13 31 January 2014
For the rest of the day we'll be monitoring all the little snippets of transfer information from Valley Parade and reacting to the news of yesterday's departure of Alan Connell and Ricky Ravenhill to Northampton while keeping you abreast of the moves elsewhere in the Premier League and Football League.
