City of Bradford swimmers came away from the Leeds January Meet at the John Charles Centre for Sport with a host of medals and personal best times.

Continuing his rich vein of form, ten-year-old Dalton Clapham came through to win the 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and butterfly and 200m individual medley. He also swam to silver in the 100m backstroke.

Azura Cairns-Poole, 14, looked confident in winning the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly and the 200m freestyle and then went on to claim silver in the 100m freestyle.

Senior swimmer Joanna Gledhill, competing in the 15 years and over, was on top of the podium in the 50m backstroke and 50m and 100m breaststroke and claimed silver in the 100m backstroke.

Jovana Lugonja looked impressive when she took the 50m backstroke event, silver in the 100m and 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly and bronze in the 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle.

Bringing up the rear on the top of the podium were 13-year-olds Emma Blaby and Neve Godfrey-Clarke, who took the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle respectively. Blaby also finished in third place in the 50m freestyle.

Abigail Shuttleworth,14, secured three silvers and, in the same age group, Bethany Meer took two second places and three bronze.

Thirteen-year-old Frankie Woodman placed second in the 50m butterfly and third in the 200m freestyle.

Other medallists were Sophie Haran, silver and bronze in the 13 years age group, Joshua Holdsworth, bronze in the 15 and over 50m freestyle, and Siobhan Akers, bronze in the 100m butterfly.
