Bradford City target another winger as Jason Kennedy heads for old club

Doncaster winger Kyle Bennett is expected to join City today on loan until the end of the season.

And Jason Kennedy is heading the other way to return to Rochdale in another temporary move.

Bennett, 23, has found opportunities in the Championship limited and recently spent a loan spell with Crawley.

A right winger, he will offer direct competition to Garry Thompson. City recently brought in Aston Villa teenager Jordan Graham but that was more as cover from the bench at a time when numbers were depleted.

Bennett, known for his pace, has plenty of first-team experience. With Raffael De Vita still struggling with a thigh injury and Mark Yeates struggling for form, he could be pushing Thompson for a start against Preston on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, midfielder Kennedy is going back to Spotland for the rest of the season. He has found it hard to make an impact at Valley Parade and the return to Rochdale will give him the regular run of games he has been lacking.

A right winger eh! All the footage of the kid on Youtube show him on the left!! Is it not more likely that Reach will play left-back (overlapping runs) with Bennett in front of him.

PP did say earlier this week that he has to rebuild the left-hand side; no mention of the right being strengthened. Would we have budget for a left winger, right winger AND a left-back as well?

So you are upset that Phil did not call you personally to inform you what other areas of the team he might want to change? Whereas I understood that he may 'freshen things up' as other managers tend to do at this time of year. This was in the newspaper. James Hanson OK these days? Nothing to report back to the club?

I can understand sending Jason Back to Rochdale, as he hasnt shown enough IMO to merit the step up to Lge 1. But this does leave us even more depleted in the centre mid position, and i was bad before!!?
I hope as well as all these (good on paper) wingers coming in, we look at getting back up for Doyle and Jones?
Watch this space i suppose??

As cover, we have Ravenhill, Bates and the lad from Donny can play centre-mid. There may of-course be further additions but if not, there is still cover.

I think this is all great news, bringing in signings before a game gives everyone a lift and the 2 lads in both look quality, and are match fit and raring to go. Can both obviously hold their own in this league. Also good to see JK going back to Rochdale, albeit on loan. Nice bloke seemingly however just didn't have the ability/confidence to play L1 footy. Hopefully it'll work out for the guy

It is an option and something that crossed my mind when I heard about the two loanee wingers, did he play that role for Watford? He isn't blessed with much pace but to play in that position it isn't needed, we know he has got good feet, can thread a pass so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Maybe Yeates will be the new Connell.

The new wingers and striker should make the next home game quite exiting.
After hearing PP bigging Kennedy up on the radio, I am surprised to see him leave. I wonder if it was PPc choice and planned or he sprung in on us. However, we shouldn’t have too much trouble replacing him. Which I should think is a must.

I just fell off my chair at the mention of PP playing a creative central midfielder. I like PP but he does like 2 defensive minded players in the middle of the park.

It has been known of late for jones and ravenhill to start together of late so I can't see an ageing partnership being a problem for selection. Have to remember Jones doesn't play like a 36 year old. We have to try to endeavour with a player like Yeates who succeeded at a higher level last season and will most likely be one of the highest earners in the squad

Shame it didn't work out for Jason Kennedy at BCFC. Think his move to Rochdale is best for both the club and player. Can't see Kennedy returning if he's successful at Rochdale. Good luck to the lad.

Be interesting to see how Bennett and Reach are used against Preston, It's possible Reach could be used at Left back with Bennett filling Reid's spot on the wing.

He works very hard, has created a number of goals this season, and in terms of "dropping him", PP has not exactly had an obvious option of late. De Vita has been injured for a few weeks, Yeates has had good moments but doesn't work as hard tracking back as GT and is struggling for form, Kennedy didn't not work out the way we had hoped.

Lets face it PB, if it wasn't Thommo getting slagged off it would be one of the other heroes who gave us Wembley twice and promotion. The likes of Olivermac, tinytoonster, mrmuzzy, notpoliticallyastute etc only EVER have negative things to say, usually without a great deal of thought or insight.

As for not getting dropped, he gets subbed most games so to suggest that PP sees him as his blue-eyed boy is utterly stupid, in the same way PP is accused of treating Connell badly when he clearly isn't quick enough to make much impact over 90 mins. Same for Hannah last season (he's really pulling up trees in the conference...not)

There are those in life who have no appreciation of anything good and choose to focus on the bad. The last 12 months has been amazing and for "fans" to be so belligerent towards the people that delivered it to us is, quite frankly, pathetic. PP has got a lot more right than he has got wrong; I wonder how many of these miserable moaners could say the same about their own lives or jobs.

Although I am disappointed at only one with win in 15 or whatever it is I do notbbelieve for a minute we are as bad as some make out. Besides that hammering we took at notts. County we have competed in every game. I no longer care he who must not be named has jumped ship to the dog botherers as super Andrew Davies will soon be back. Those that are foolish to believe him alone cannot turn it around are well, foolish. Lets look at the most potent team in the whole land... yes Manchester City. For all their wealth up front and potency they are half the team without Vincent kompany and that is with hundreds of millions spent on the team. Andrew Davies is our main man and with him back this will leave our better players the peace of mind yo attack knowing the back door is shut. The goals and points will soon be flowing again. Let's all get behind the team and roll forwards together

Andrew Davies is our main man and with him back this will leave our better players the peace of mind yo attack knowing the back door is shut. The goals and points will soon be flowing again. Let's all get behind the team and roll forwards together macca1969

He's got a point though... Thommo would not get in to any League 1team on current form, yeah constanly gets picked for ours

Spot on KM, Thommo from what I've seen is a far better bet than playing Yeates in the same position nor has De Vita brought much to the table. Not only does the team get an attacking option with Thompson, his heading and tracking back is also very good for the team.

Looking forward to seeing all three of the new players perform and I'm sure Graham will also get game time, with him being so young it's liable to be 10-15 mins when BCFC are in control of a game which hopefully will be against PNE.

It is an option and something that crossed my mind when I heard about the two loanee wingers, did he play that role for Watford? He isn't blessed with much pace but to play in that position it isn't needed, we know he has got good feet, can thread a pass so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Maybe Yeates will be the new Connell.
what sat on the bench till last 10mins?!!
play just behind the front 2?
parky wont play like that.

You,re opinion is no less or more valid than anybody else's ,PP is not immune from criticism because of past successes and to suggest that those who offer a different opinion to yours are miserable moaners is about as arrogant as it gets.
I think you might need to check what opinion means. Spitting bile at those who have done great things for a club has nothing to do with expressing opinions. Whilst checking, you can look up arrogant too.

I know plenty about you by the way 'cos I read your posts. You are frustrated and angry with life, you cannot cope with reality and things are generally not going the way you wish they would. Certainly not the calm reflective type. You also have an inflated opinion of yourself as you seem to think that you are qualified to criticise a successful and professional manager. You also seem to think that attending games somehow validates your opinion.

Why were you not slating "parky" in May? How come a man who has proven he can deliver success beyond anyones expectations is now not fit for purpose.

PP did say earlier this week that he has to rebuild the left-hand side; no mention of the right being strengthened. Would we have budget for a left winger, right winger AND a left-back as well?
Apparently PP still looking to bring in a specialist left back so it looks like Reach on the left and Kyle or GT on the right.

Why were you not slating "parky" in May? How come a man who has proven he can deliver success beyond anyones expectations is now not fit for purpose.
Because whinytoonster and his moaning mates say he isn't....
i dont have any mates on here.
i have an opinion which is mine.
its a comment page, i comment, end of.
never ever booed or slagged the team at city.
not like some saddos who boo at half time then clap when they start 2nd half.
i follow city not the manager.
if i dont like something i say it, you dont like it skip past.

There are ways of expressing "opinions" or passing comment without being hateful. This may be a comment page but thoughtful comment is preferable to idiotic comment...no matter what opinion you wish to convey.

It seems to me that posters only see some views as hateful, not though out, unhelpful etc when they disagree with their view. How often have you (or anyone else) had a word with posters that you agree with? I also think that there are a number of posters on this site that are not overly keen on free speech.

What has free speech to do with anything? People can type what they want but I have the freedom to challenge it. If you cant see the difference between expressing an opinion and bile then that is your issue not mine. Command of the English language clearly escapes some who post on here.

Opinions, by the way, are supposed to be based on evidence. If people want to say that PP is clueless then they need to square that with Wembley and promotion and a good start to the season. They need to consider all of th things he doesnt control. Sadly, the quality of comment is often based on nothing but personal frustrations and poor understanding. These people disappear when things are going well.

The free speech remark was about comments like "oh, so you know more than Parkinson do you?" Or the other type "you would not know a football if it hit you in the face". Imo, completely pointless things to say. A bit like so and so and his moaning mates. I can see where you are coming from with the opinion bit, but to be fair, its a comments board and posters are entitled to leave comments with out any explanation. You can always ask them to elaborate.
