Left winger Adam Reach joins Bradford City on loan

Middlesbrough left winger Adam Reach has today joined City on a month's loan.

The 20-year-old, who has spent the first half of the season at Shrewsbury, will fill the gap left by Kyel Reid's season-ending injury.

England under-20 international Reach has signed initally until February 22, with a view to extending the deal after that.

Reach made 22 appearances for the Shrews, scoring three times. He played in their 2-1 defeat at Valley Parade in September - City's last home win - and had an assist in the opposition's early goal.

This is a good signing. If he proves to be a 'City ' player. Then keep him until May.. He should be match fit .City's coaching team (Allenby) will get him fit!.
*
I would like to see more young players brought in. Particularly from higher divisions--Reserve or even third Squads.
*
Parky needs to re-build the Squad, and look at changing City's approach play.
I do not like the old long ball style , and playing combinations.

better than yeates, graham? if not what's the point. 3 left wingers, really? it's quality we need to improve the squad. judgement clearly reserved but lets hope there is actually a point to this signing instead of just another budget muncher.

Yeats isn't a winger, Graham is very young, who will more than likely get game time but wont start, I believe he's on a youth loan so costs the club next to nothing.

Adam Reach is a quality signing, should do an excellent job for Bradford City fc, glad we have the option of extending his loan. Expect similar quality in regards to the left back position. Great to see PP back to bringing in top quality acquisitions.

Graham is more of a right winger anyway, but can play on either wing

Well, nobody knows if he will be a good signing at this stage because he has not played any games. The important factor is to try and bring in the right players, age being secondary factor in my opinion. Remember that there are an awful (!) lot of people on here that are against the signing of loan players. Were you previously one of them? Anyway, best of luck if you now want to convince them otherwise - I'm with you there! And when did you become adverse to City's style of play? You spotted this last season and said then that it must change. Yes?

Doylem. Good goal ratio for a winger. Good run of games for the Shrews and has played at a higher level at a very early stage in his career Looks promising and obviously talented footballer if he has represented his country. Try actually watching a few games before you slag him off

Wasn't going to bite.. But your idiotic statement and serious lack of knowledge needs addressing... There is no point wasting all the money now when we can spend it in the summer.. We have enough to survive (in my opinion) comfortably when we get a couple players back, and Hanson & McLean build up a partnership.

lots of players are out of contract in the summer (not just at our club but others) so me should save the money till then and go for players who can make us compete in the higher echelons of this league!!

He's not a winger is he, he's hardly likely to grill the fullback, he has some of the ingredients but not all by any means, I'm unsure of what is his best position is, but a winger Yeats isn't. Maybe central midfield but I don't see Yeats getting into that position as we play two wingers usually in Reid and Thompson so unless I'm missing something I don't see Yeats as industrious enough but hopefully I'm wrong and he brings his game to the boil. I think to garnish this platter any other way would leave an empty feeling in my stomach. Hopefully Yeats has served us the hors d'oeuvre rather than the main course in regards to his ability, on what we've been served so far, starvation comes to mind. So in my opinion there's far more to come from Yeats, but not out wide.

Or 3 wins in 20, or 5 in 22...we know it isn't good enough but you can make anything look bad depending on how you set the criteria.

13 losses since the start of 2013 isn't a bad stat.

According to SP earlier this season, we has a surplus of £400k left over from last season but couldn't include in his budget for this season. Why are we allowed to carry over the Wells fee but the CO cup money couldn't be??

Yeats isn't a winger, Graham is very young, who will more than likely get game time but wont start, I believe he's on a youth loan so costs the club next to nothing. Adam Reach is a quality signing, should do an excellent job for Bradford City fc, glad we have the option of extending his loan. Expect similar quality in regards to the left back position. Great to see PP back to bringing in top quality acquisitions.
Your saying top quality players been brought in but was the point we need to sing players that are actually will still be there at the end of the season not getting our coaching us spending time and money for them to go back to there own clubs witch leaves us short and try to get new ones in for next season oh and come on moaning about Yates has he really had a chance in the squad you want to talk about players getting a chance and doing nothing with that chance look at the right wing tomo as done nothing and still gets picked spend some chuffin money oooo no we got robbed with the wells sale aswell

You obviously wouldn't know a football if it hit you in the face, he has player 18 times for borough and scored 3, championship level. Derrrr
7 goals in 45 league appearances.

Adam Reach scored 3 in 22 for Shrewsbury .... and 3 in 18 at Boro. over the years - I guess not all full games / 90 mins too.

With a better record at Darlington - 1 in 5 ...

So if he can chip in with a goal every 6 games or so and more importantly an assist or two for Hanson and McLean most matches then we will be laughing all the way home / to the pub after the game!

Loans loans loans. Is he cover aswell for all your other signings Parky that haven't made the grade or are you going to give these lads the opportunity? Let's face it the other wide players haven't shone apart from Reid. One thing is for sure he is not going to replace Thompson who could have only one leg and would still be picked.

There's quite a few on here claiming that Reach is a very good player and a terrific signing. Lots of you are suggesting he is the left winger we need to replace Reid. Hands up guys, how many of you really know anything about him? You may recall him against us earlier this season (personally I can't remember him), but either way, that was just 1 game. How do any of us know how good he is?

To put this into perspective, is he actually a winger? Depending on the source, he is described as either a left-back or left-wing, but his actual club state he is a defender. So those that claim he is our left wing replacement; what are you actually basing your opinion on?

"BORN in Chester-le-Street, Adam is a tall, quick, left-sided player .... Although primarily a defender, Adam caught the headlines with a hat-trick for Steve Agnew's second string in a totesport.com League game at hometown Gateshead in April 2011".

Personally, I think he may have been signed as Mezza's replacement as opposed to Reid's, especially if rumours that we are also signing Donnie Rovers' Kyle Bennett (winger) is true. Could we see Reach playing behind Bennett on our left???

you can use it for anything but wage budget.
so when players leave we can spend on buying players to rebuild squad but not break the 60% wage limit.
