Cleckheaton took the three-hour bus trip to Alnwick in their stride to maintain their 14-point lead at the top of North One East.

Four unanswered first-half tries from Rich Piper (2), Matt Piper and Martin Woodhead guaranteed the visitors a bonus-point win.

Alnwick showed commendable spirit at the start of the second half and took the game to Cleckheaton, earning a try for Harry Sordy.

As the match entered the final quarter an impressive display by the league leaders resulted in two further tries for Alex Dawson and James Wilson. Cleckheaton are at home to Wheatley Hills this coming Saturday.
