Bradford Bulls join forces with University of Bradford in kit sponsorship deal

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul

The Bulls have today announced a new kit sponsorship deal with the University of Bradford.

The university's branding will feature on the home and away playing jerseys, with their logo appearing on the Bulls' playing strips in 2014.

The sponsorship deal will be evident on the Bulls' kit on Sunday when Francis Cummins' men welcome Hull FC to the Provident Stadium for their opening pre-season friendly.

Bulls chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul said: "The University of Bradford and Bradford Bulls are two of the city’s oldest and largest organisations and I am delighted to have them on board with us as we venture into a new era of professional rugby league in the city.

"This is an exciting deal for us and it is great to have another partner on board for the coming campaign.

"This fits directly into our season-long 'BELONG' approach and I believe it is vital for us to anchor deep within the city and its businesses.

"Both this club and the university are well-known Bradford organisations, which each boast a long-standing heritage in the city.”

Good news. Does this mean the University logo will replace the Provident one? That might mean a few more jersey sales.

This is brilliant news, the university is the most productive thing in Bradford. So glad provident is off the front of the shirts.

I think this will be a smaller logo, not the main shirt sponsor as Provident signed a four-year deal in November 2012.

It was Bradford College NOT the university that had the "Green B" logo. I remember they paid a lot of money to consultants for the re-branding. I'm sure they're thrilled that we cant even remember what the "Green B" represented.

I'm sure I read earlier that the University logo would appear on the front of the shirt where the Rajas logo was last year. Provident is still the main sponsor and they have supported the Bulls very well over the last couple of years. Would be nice if other multi national Bradford based companies such as Morrisons, JCT, Hallmark cards, Yorkshire Building society, Yorks Water, Aagrah restaurants, BASF, Grattan, Damart, Mumtaz, British Wool, Safestyle, NG Bailey, Seabrook crisps, Pace, Santander etc followed their example and got behind the club.

I bought my shirt in December. Its gonna look pretty naked without all the new sponsors on it!

I wouldn't hold your breath on the YBS given they've shifted hundreds over to Leeds. I bet it won't be long before the registered address is changed from BD5 to LS1.
Morrisons always get slated by our City's sports clubs supporters for not getting involved but that's their choice.
JCT have been involved with both City and Bulls so it's a bit harsh calling them out.

I wasn't saying they had a right or obligation to get involved. I was just pointing out that there's still a lot of potential BIG sponsors with links to Bradford and it would be nice if they could get on board. Yes JCT have been involved in the past and it would be nice if they got involved again. I've bought two cars from them in the last 3 years. I boycott ASDA and Tesco and do my weekly shop at Morrison because its Bradford based and creates Bradford jobs which we need. Lets hope they can support us in the future

Well, a much better week for all Bulls supporters, culminating in a match at Odsal on Sunday. Well done to RHP and his team, the Company's backing our great Club, and those fans able to make the game on Sunday.
.
On a very sad note, RIP to Fred Robinson- a Bradford legend!

Some people are never happy for gods sake its a new sponsor, confidence in the Bulls will need rebuilding after everything that has happened Robbie and all at Bulls are now doing a sterling job, all potential sponsors should be welcomed " building a strong product" is the most important thing at this time, lets not squabble lets be glad were heading in right direction.
