Burnley latest club to be linked with Bradford City hot-shot Nahki Wells

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Nahki Wells Nahki Wells

Burnley are understood to be among the clubs keeping tabs on the Nahki Wells situation.

The Clarets were linked with the City striker during the August window and are now considering whether to join the race. Championship rivals Middlesbrough are also thought to be watching the situation.

But there is no foundation to reports that Nottingham Forest have been in contact.

We revealed yesterday that an unnamed Premier League club are tracking Wells – not understood to be Aston Villa – and that Wolves had dropped out of the race.

Huddersfield are favourites with the bookies to land him but Leeds are also still keen after promises of new investment coming through.

It seems to be getting worse, first that one horse town Hudds want Nahki, now the six fingered folk from a place no bigger than Keighley are showing an interest. The more i read the better the chances are that Wells will be with BCFC til the summer.

Except for the mysterious Premier Club, that is interested in Wells. I would have thought the 'Others' mentioned in this Article;;--CAN NOT AFFORD THE £ 3 Million- needed for his signature. Plus the 'Add-On' costings etc.

In my opinion 2.5 is the most we will get. If he has no interest in talking about a years extension we have to sell and it has to be now. We don't want a bidding war to begin and drag on till the end of the transfer window leaving usno time to spend however much the chairmen can allow.

The club should take as long as necessary to get the best price. The transfer window is kinda irrelevant as the loan market wont be shut on 1Feb. No point in a panic sale when hundreds of thousands are at stake. You shouldnt forget that Nahki has a say in this too. He doesnt have to leave for the first club that offers the club enough cash. Be patient, its not all about this season.

Ok saying not all about this season but we lose Wells and bring in no replacement of note we will continue to fall down the league and end up in a dog fight. Of course Nakhi has a say in it but we should have a realistic minimum amount that we will accept then its down to him. Brighton paid 3 million for makail-smith a couple of seaaons back but he had proven himself at championship level. I really hope the board are being realistic about the amount they are looking for.

This is becoming tedious. All that seems to be happening is local newspapers around the UK fill column inches with a Nahki Wells story.

It would be more interesting if Simon Parker could find the source of these rumours. Is it his agent, the twits who twitter or some mischief maker at Sky Sports?

In the meantime the young man's head must be in a whirl. Doubt he'll play on Saturday

It doesn't hurt for Nahki to see for himself that the grass isn't necessarily green on the other side of the fence. If he realises that Huddersfield is his best other option maybe he will be encouraged to extend his contract at Valley Parade and take his chances. After all, age is on his side.

Yes, but these things often happen at the last minute. If we have players lined-up, there is no reason why the deals cannot take place in the last day or so.

Regarding the Nahki Wells ongoing transfer speculation, we've had the **** boys and the six fingered mongs, showing an interest, no doubt the scumbags will be entering the fray shortly, what on earth has the lad done to deserve this. Hopefully as Peter says he'll chooses wisely. Obviously none of the above fall into that catogory. He may stay til the summer, which would be great news.

Alright I'll give you the truth ..theres actually no firm bidder at all. Wolves were interested but its cooled, Hudders n Leeds are linked just because they're local rivals. Forest are out of it, so are Villa and Burnley well maybe ? but likely made up. Fact is Wells is a City player today and he still will be on January 31st. Then at the end of this Parky's going to have to remotivate an unsettled player who we won't see the best of for the rest of the season. Then its count down to being out of contract.

If BCFC get on a good run, take it from me, Nahki wont take any motivating, he'd prefer to play Championship football with BCFC. Now where were the club in the league before Davies got injured, I'm surmising it'll be full steam ahead when Davies and maybe a couple of quality acquisitions are in the side shortly. Steady the ship then make a late push for the playoffs, we've done it before we can do it again.

I agree with that, but with all this 'will he wont he' stuff Wells's head is spinning so Parky (and he can) will need to re focus him for the task. Yes he could acheive his ambition to play at level higher with City.
