Bradford Sunday Alliance League outfit Grass Greener’s run to the West Riding County FA Sunday Trophy last 16 ended with a 3-2 home defeat to Wellington Westgate after extra time.

Ben Cawley nudged the hosts in front from the penalty spot after 20 minutes but the Huddersfield visitors pulled level before the interval.

A second Cawley goal restored Grass Greener’s advantage but Westgate equalised again to force an additional 30 minutes.

Westgate took the lead for the first time in the first period and Cawley was then unlucky to see what would have been his hat-trick goal ruled out a minute from the final whistle.

League action saw Sandy Lane beat relegation-threatened George Hotel 2-1 to remain top of the Premier Division table.

Goals from Danny Hook and Tony Burtt left Hotel joint-bottom with two other teams on 12 points.

Dudley Hill Rangers pulled four points clear of the bottom trio thanks to a 4-2 home win against Thornton United.

And Peel Park edged a five-goal thriller at Wyke Wanderers to climb into mid-table security.

Buttershaw Celtic moved eight points clear at the Division One summit after winning an entertaining contest 4-3 at Cuedos Rangers.

Jamie Brennan hit the winner five minutes from the end with his second goal as he added to earlier efforts from team-mates Mally Nicholson and Liam Keeley.

Wyke Rangers moved up to third in Division 1A with games in hand on top two clubs Pudsey Amateurs and Bolton Woods Socials as they won 5-0 at Towngate.

Liam Hainsworth grabbed a double, with further strikes coming from Brendan Folan, Josh Wall and Luke Abbott.

Eccleshill Punjab enhanced second position in Division 3B with a 5-0 home victory over Grass Greener United A.

The goals were shared by Anil Singh, Kam Basi, Jordan Campbell, Sunil Makh and Aran Chand.
