Calverley United grabbed a much-needed 4-2 win over Beeston Old Boys that sees them move up to ninth in the 12-team Yorkshire Amateur League Senior B division.

In-form Scott Driscoll notched a stunning hat-trick, with Gary Trewitt’s fourth the icing on the cake.

Farsley Celtic Juniors’ promotion aspirations were boosted by a 3-1 win over Rodillian which sees them leapfrog their rivals into fourth.

Farsley controlled the game but with so many chances wasted they only had Craig Farrand’s goal to show for their efforts at half-time.

Farrand went on to complete his hat trick in the second half, with the consolation goal for Rodillian from Stephen Osborne.

St Bedes remain securely rooted to the bottom of table after a 3-1 defeat to Collingham Juniors.

They have yet to take a point after five games and, to make matters worse, this was Collingham’s first win of the season.

All the goals came in the second half thanks to Martin Weal and Richard Metcalfe (2), with Bede’s riposte coming from Gary Sunderland.

St Bedes Reserves – who inflicted a first Division Two defeat of the campaign on Middleton Park the previous week – went down to a disappointing 6-3 loss at home to Huddersfield YMCA. Ross Jones (2) and Jerome Yewdall did their bit but the Bedes defence caved in against a good YMCA side.

In Division Three, Calverley United Reserves now prop up the table after slipping to a 3-0 defeat against FC Headingley Reserves.
