Right on Cue

Paul Davey was the surprise package at the Yorkshire Snooker Handicap qualifiers hosted by Cue Gardens.

The Bradford cueman played consistently well throughout the day in his home city to earn a place in the semi-finals to be played on Sunday, December 15.

There were several Bradford-based players in the competition but it will be Davey flying the flag for the district.

He scored impressive wins against Oliver Mulcahy of Batley (2-0), Michael Whaley (Huddersfield, 3-1) and Colin Hawkins (Huddersfield, 3-2), before seeing off Lee Roper of Castleford 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

Davey’s last-four opponent will be Chris Hall, who made the highest break of the day with a 92.

The other tie sees Conrad Norcliffe (Huddersfield) taking on Craig Murkin (Castleford) for a place in the final, to be played on the same day.
