Dexter Blackstock in line for derby after signing for Leeds United
Leeds loan signing Dexter Blackstock could come straight in for Saturday lunchtime’s Yorkshire derby with Huddersfield.
The 27-year-old striker – who was on the verge of joining Brighton last weekend – today joined on a three-month deal from Nottingham Forest, where he has featured only twice this season.
Blackstock’s arrival is likely to be followed by former Hearts skipper Marius Zaliukas as Leeds look to build on the confidence-restoring 4-0 win over Birmingham – their biggest league win for two years.
Boss Brian McDermott said: “I’ve known Dexter for a long time, being brought up in Oxford.
“I’m really pleased we’ve managed to secure his services.
“He’s a really good age for a striker and I’m sure he has many good years in front of him.
“We are all really looking forward to working with him.”
