Depleted Albion Sports are done four!
Albion Sports suffered their fourth defeat in their last five games as they slumped to a heavy 5-1 loss at Retford United.
Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are understrength at the moment but the manager has refused to seek excuses, insisting that it is a squad game.
However, even he was surprised by the severity of the scoreline at promotion-chasing Retford.
It all began so well for Albion as Karl Hall gave them a first-minute lead. But it was all square at the break after a Reece Thompson goal midway through the first half restored parity.
Thompson netted his second early in the second half and ten minutes later Craig Fisher made it 3-1.
Fisher emulated Thompson by bagging a brace before Liam Wilkin wrapped up the scoring 11 minutes from time.
The win took Retford above deposed leaders Thackley and puts them into second spot on goal difference, although the Dennyboys do have a game in hand.
Albion, meanwhile, dropped two places to tenth despite this being only their second league defeat.
