Yorkshire bowlers put to the sword
Yorkshire’s bowling attack toiled without any reward during the afternoon session of their LV= County Championship game against Surrey at The Oval.
Third-wicket pair Dominic Sibley and Hashim Amla could not be parted and at tea the home side were 419-2 in reply to Yorkshire’s 434.
Eighteen-year-old Sibley was 159 not out and the impressive Amla was on 145 when the players came in for the interval, by which time the pair had set a new record for their county’s third wicket against Yorkshire.
Sibley and Amla added 163 runs in 33 overs between lunch and tea and the Yorkshire bowlers did not have even the sniff of a wicket as both batsmen cashed in on a flat pitch.
