Quest Taekwondo in national medal spree
Quest Taekwondo competitors picked up six medals during a highly successful trip to British National Championships in Manchester.
The two gold, three silver and one bronze won meant Quest finished sixth in the whole event, ranking them as one of the top clubs in the country.
The victories came from Silsden siblings Natasha (juniors) and Liam Burdock (children), who both retained their titles as national champions.
The remaining four members of Quest’s ten-strong team – Gary Watt (Greengates, children), Jamie Simpson-Kidd (Silsden, children), Zak Spencer (Baildon, children) and Karl Harris (Cottingley, cadets) – all reached the quarter-finals of their categories.
Jacob Barnett (17, Baildon) won silver last year but was rested this time as he focuses on the Junior European Championships in Portugal at the end of September.
A record 615 competitors from 84 top clubs took part in the competition.
