Bradford Bulls new boy Lee Gaskell will look and learn from the master next season
Lee Gaskell believes he can learn from one of the best in the business in Jarrod Sammut as he prepares to become a Bradford player.
The former St Helens man, 22, is gearing up for life at the Provident Stadium after agreeing a two-year deal with Francis Cummins’ side.
Gaskell (pictured) will compete with Sammut for the regular stand-off berth but he believes he can learn much from the Bulls star, who scored 25 tries during 2013.
Gaskell said: “Jarrod is a great player and can win you games on his own.
“You need someone like that in your team who can come up with something special out of absolutely nowhere and I’m happy to be learning from someone of his quality.”
Gaskell spent the majority of last season at Salford and Brian Noble was keen to sign him on a permanent basis.
Gaskell explained: “I really enjoyed it at Salford to be honest.
“I was playing first-team rugby and I’m glad I went there because it’s been a good part of my life.
“But I’m happy to move on now and am looking forward to becoming a Bulls player. “Bradford have got great players anyway and, having signed Carvell, Dale Ferguson and Luke George, we’re only going to get stronger next year. Hopefully we can kick on and make the play-offs.”
Gaskell is enjoying his end-of-season break, adding: “I’ve got a little boy who is three so I’ve been relaxing with him and my girlfriend.
“We’ll probably go on holiday before I come back raring to go at Bradford for pre-season.”
