Salem Athletic pip Bradford Gymkhana for Bradford Mutual Sunday School League championship
The last day of the season proved to be quite eventful in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League as three divisional titles were settled, one promotion place and two relegation berths.
In Group A, Salem Athletic are the new champions after their win over second-placed Bradford Gymkhana.
Salem made 220-7, Mohammed Bilal top-scoring with 76 and Amir Mehmmod contributing 46. Gymkhana were then dismissed for 149, Mehr Sultan claiming 6-28.
Sajid Parvez scored 66 of Girlington's 209, Waqas Butt taking 6-28. In reply, Heaton made 182, with Sohail Butt scoring 52.
That left the final relegation place to be decided between Interlink and Omars, who met at Interlink.
Omars totalled 179-8, Adnan Raja scoring 59 and Asad Abbas 60, with Ismail Adam bagging 6-35.
Interlink passed that score with six wickets down, Mohammed Data scoring 89 not out to send Omars down.
Elsewhere, Bradford Moor finished third after they defeated Hallfield by 78 runs. Sohail Akram scored 68 in Moor's 215, Adnan Shezad taking 5-53. Hallfield replied with 137.
Great Horton Church claimed fourth spot after they gained a winning draw over Cambing.
Veteran Talish Butt scored 81 in Church's 184-4 but Cambing held out for a draw at 125-8, with Zebeeh Ullah taking 5-35.
In Group B, Yorkshire LPS and Girlington met to decide who would be champions, LPS coming out on top by 65 runs. LPS made 164-8 and Girlington replied with 99, Sartak Joshi taking 4-5.
Apperley batted first and made 113, Mohammed Yasir scoring 51 and Shiraz Ahmed taking 5-37. Allerton were then all out for 90.
Bradford Gymkhana defeated Mayfield by 21 runs, despite Faisal Mohammed first taking 4-39 as Gymkhana were all out for 196 and then scoring 77 of Mayfield's 175 all out.
Bowling Baptists ended the season with a win down by the river at Greenfield's Shipley ground.
Akhtar Mahmood scored 52 and Asad Hussain 40 as Bowling Baptist made 131, despite the bowling of Faraz Zafar, who took 5-3, his first six overs being maidens when he took 4-0. Greenfield replied with 109 all out, Asad Hussain taking 5-20.
In Group C, with the championship already decided, the final relegation spot was still to be settled between Mandhata and Hallfield.
Mandhata won the match but Hallfield gained enough bonus points to stay up. Hallfield scored 136, Pritesh Patel taking 4-27, and Mandhata passed the score for the loss of five wickets.
Bottom club Bradford Indians ended the season with a win after making 126 all out, Anthony Moss taking 4-25, but 5-3 from Sakeer Ashraf helped dismiss Great Horton Meths for 73.
Cambing defeated West Bowling by 15 runs. Varinder Singh scored 50 and Adeil Mir 56 as Cambing made 185-5. West Bowling were all out for 170, Chris Carter scoring 52 and Anjum Munir 44, Shamroz Khan taking 4-21 for Cambing.
In Group D, the top two places were already decided but the championship was still up for grabs.
As both the top two won, the title went to Yorkshire LPS, who defeated Mayfield , Muff Field A finishing second after they defeated Buttershaw St Paul's by five wickets.
Great Horton Meths and Central YMCA tied their match at 150 apiece, YMCA losing their last two wickets with the scores level. Top scorers were Joe Deakin (47 for Meths) and Alex Stephenson and Ian Davies (41 each for YMCA).
