Gold for Danielle Brown
Danielle Brown won her category in the Grand Final of the 2013 National Series, British archery’s blue riband event.
The Lothersdale competitor, who shoots from a sitting position due to having sympathetic dystrophy, which affects her ability to stand, celebrated her first able-bodied British title after beating twice-winner Lucy O’Sullivan in the final at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.
Paralympian Brown needed to shoot a perfect ten with her final arrow to clinch the gold medal and said: “Winning this feels incredible. She put me under real pressure and it was anybody’s match all the way through.”
