Richard Johnson is Bradford Bulls’ top fan
Richard Johnson has spoken of his delight after being named the Bradford Bulls Brut Fan of Pride 2013.
The lifelong Bulls supporter from Shipley has helped develop wheelchair rugby league since 2006 and helped to raise over £2,000 in the Quest for Survival campaign last season.
Johnson is now head coach of Bradford Bulls Wheelchair Rugby League Club, working with children and young people in the community as part of the Bradford Bulls Foundation and raising disability awareness in schools and colleges across Bradford and Yorkshire.
In addition to this he is also a full-time carer for his disabled wife Gill, who is also a Bulls fanatic.
Johnson said: “I’m incredibly proud to win this award but it’s recognition of a lot of people’s hard work in supporting the Bulls and wheelchair rugby league.”
Johnson pipped fellow fanatic Claire Butterfield to the title and has been rewarded with season tickets, grand final tickets and Brut products.
He will now go forward to represent the Bulls in the national competition, with the overall Brut Fan of Pride winner announced later this month.
