Tyersal made the perfect start to the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division season with a 5-0 victory at Bradford rivals Campion, with Graeme Sides and Aaron Heywood both scoring doubles and Andy Bailey getting the fifth.

On Saturday, Tyersal welcome Lepton Highlanders to Arkwright Street (2.30), while Campion play last season’s champions Bay Athletic at Kirkburton.

Salts picked up three valuable points in their opening fixture at Steeton with a 3-2 success. Daniel Lyness, Chris McTigue and Andy Howlands gave Salts a 3-0 advantage before Chris Simpson and Andy King scored for Steeton. On Saturday, Steeton entertain Kirkburton.

West Horton, who started their Division One campaign with a 4-4 draw against Wibsey, host Bay Athletic Reserves at Myra Shay.

Hunsworth will play Wakefield City at East Bierley, while Ventus Yeadon Celtic, who beat Westbrook YMCA 5-0 in midweek, have Mirfield-based Lower Hopton as their opponents at Dam Lane.

Bradford made their Division Two debut on Wednesday night, when a John Singh double gave them a 2-1 win at Tyersal Reserves. Tomorrow they visit Lower Hopton Reserves.
