Stiffest test comes early for Farsley
Farsley face a tough task on Saturday as they host leaders Darlington 1883 in Evo-Stik Division One North.
It is early days regarding the league table but Darlington, who rose from the ashes of the now defunct Football League outfit, are tipped to be one of the title favourites, so their position is not perceived to be false even at this stage.
Neil Parsley’s men will be looking to knock them off their lofty perch after returning to winning ways in midweek.
Farsley suffered a narrow and agonising defeat on day one as they were beaten 1-0 at Clitheroe, despite having most of the play and failing from the penalty spot twice in the latter stages.
They rectified that to an extent when skipper Rob O’Brien scored from the spot to open the scoring, after a handball offence, in Tuesday’s 3-1 victory at home to Prescot Cables.
That three-pointer will have boosted morale as Farsley host the top outfit on Saturday, and then travel to struggling Ossett Albion on Monday in what could prove to be an important three days.
