El-Hadji Diouf is in Elland Road 'shop window'
Controversial striker El-Hadji Diouf could be in the Elland Road shop window in Saturday lunch-time's derby clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Diouf is expected to be in contention to return for Leeds after recovering from a shin infection.
But it is being strongly suggested that Brian McDermott may look to move him on to free up funds in the remaining fortnight of the transfer window.
David Norris and Adam Drury are also believed to be on the surplus list as McDermott looks to make at least one more signing.
A centre half remains top of the list after missing out on Brighton’s Gordon Greer, and Bolton defender Matt Mills has been mentioned for a possible loan move.
Leeds continue to reject any overtures for Ross McCormack and have turned down two bids by Middlesbrough as well as interest from Blackpool.
After four points from the first two games, they can pile the pressure on under-fire Wednesday boss Dave Jones in front of another bumper crowd.
McDermott is looking for the fans to once again play their part. He said: “You were all fantastic at the Brighton game and your support really made the difference.
“You created a brilliant atmosphere on the opening day and it will keep the players going. They are all proud to wear the Leeds United shirt.”
