City have joined forces with the Bulls’ main sponsor in a bid to attract new fans through the Valley Parade turnstiles.

Bradford firm Provident Financial have signed a three-year deal to sponsor the Community Enclosure – a plan to bring in extra supporters from schools, youth clubs and local groups.

The link with City’s Community Foundation is supported by Provident’s Good Neighbour programme using heavily-discounted tickets to attract people who have not been to a game before.

City director of operations David Baldwin said: “The project is a way of encouraging the next generation of supporters into the ground through the community ticket scheme, controlled by our community department.

“It’s a fantastic partnership with a locally established company.

“It’s great that they are supporting the professional clubs in the city and we are keen to nurture that relationship going forward.”

With away fans moving back behind the goal in the TL Dallas stand, the Community Enclosure will be housed in the F and G blocks of Midland Road.

For games when a large travelling support is expected, they will transfer to the north-west corner where the advertising signs are based.

Nahki Wells and James Hanson were among the players at the official launch at Valley Parade yesterday.

Chris Gillespie, Provident Financial’s managing director of consumer credit, said: “Last season was an incredible one for Bradford City and we are delighted to be able to support the club into League One.

“We want to help as many people as possible to have a stake in the success of the club and the success of Bradford. We’ve also got a large number of fans within the company and this will certainly complement our other partnerships within the city.”

The financial services firm, who are based in Centenary Square, signed a four-year £1.2m sponsorship deal with the Bulls in November, which saw Odsal renamed the Provident Stadium.

Their name is also emblazoned on the club’s kit.

This is their first involvement with the football club and could open the way to more backing in the future.
