Finally, a team at the top of Bradford Mutual Sunday School League Group A held on to their lead as the Ishtiaq brothers inspired Great Horton Church to victory over Hallfield.

Seventeen-year-old Raees Ishtiaq took 5-38 as Hallfield were all out for 177 before elder brother Omar scored 67 not out. He put on 122 with Savaiz Bashir (69no) as Church triumphed by seven wickets.

Heaton move up to second place after beating Omars by 18 runs. Waqas Butt scored 60 as Heaton compiled 146, with S Khan taking 4 for 31. Omars fell short on 128 in reply, Riasat Ali doing the damage with 5-38.

Bradford Moor moved up to third after their win over Salem Athletic (163 all out, Majid Ur Rehman 44). Abdul Hamid took four wickets and Mohammed Imran five for Moor, who reached their target for the loss of five wickets, Ghazanfar Bashir top-scoring with 52.

Interlink had to settle for a draw against Bradford Gymkhana. They made 249 (Younis Bismillah 79no, Mohammed Data 56) as Mohammed Sheeraz registered 4-41 for Gymkhana and then scored an unbeaten 70 to see his side home at 200-7, Younis Bismillah taking 4-49.

At Cambing, Girlington were dismissed for 120 (Qasir Javaid 50, Amir Shah 6-29) in an eight-wicket defeat.

In Group B Greenfield pulled off the shock of the day by defeating second-placed Salem Athletic. Mazar Iqbal (74) and Sohail Khan (54) led Greenfield to 205 all out before Sohail Kahn did the damage with the ball, taking 6-32 to see Salem all out for 159, Wasim Khan top-scoring with 46.

Girlington moved up to second spot after they defeated Bradford Gymkhana (195 all out, Fiazi Khan 45) by three wickets, Haroon Rashid (79no) and Shahid Saleem (76) making the key runs.

Yorkshire LPS are fifth after they defeated a depleted Cross Roads and Daisy Hill Meths. LPS amassed 231-9 (Vivek Jay Kumar 95) before Sartak Joshi bagged seven wickets as Daisy struggled to 85.

Rad Nawaz scored 68 for Allerton in their 180 all out but it was not enough as Ajmal Mahmood notched 109 not out, his century coming up off only 54 balls to see bowling Baptists home by five wickets.

Group C leaders Mandhata went down to a revitalised Cambing, for whom Omar Afzar scored 122 in a total of 274-9. Then Steve Baker took 6-22 as Mandhata were all out for 138.

Second-placed Great Horton Church lost to Great Horton Meths by two wickets.

Anthony Moss took 4-41 and scored 53 for Meths, Paul Cuthbertson scoring 47. Butt was Church’s top scorer with 84 in their 174 all out.

VVS Laxmans had an easy ten-wicket win over struggling West Bowling. Sajid Ali took 5-7, including four wickets in six balls, as West Bowling were all out for 76. Navdeep Nigam scored 46 not out as Laxmans passed the score in just seven overs.

Hallfield defeated Bradford Indians by seven wickets.

In Group D Yorkshire LPS still lead the table after their 80-run win at YMCA. Akash Singh Gopal scored 77 not out in their 193-7. YMCA replied with 113 all out.

Buttershaw St Paul’s moved up to second after their four-wicket win over bottom club Great Horton Meths.

Finally in the battle of the two Muff field teams, the A team defeated the B team by ten wickets. Hassan Malik took 4-3 as the B team were all out for 43.
