The West Riding County Amateur League's representative team advanced into the next round of the FA Inter-League Cup after a 3-2 extra preliminary round victory against the Suffolk & Ipswich League.

The County Amateur side dominated the first half-hour and deservedly took the lead with a Glynne Beale (Tyersal) header.

The hosts then rocked the County Amateur League by equalising and then taking the lead in a ten- minute purple patch before the interval with goals from Lee Cooper and Dean Tourney-Godfrey.

The County Amateur League again took charge early in the second half, and a volley from Gavin Armitage (Storthes Hall) levelled the game.

Both sides pressed to gain the winner in normal time, but it fell to a penalty in the first period of extra-time to settle the tie.

Robbie Graham (Ovenden West Riding) saw his spot-kick rebound off the home side's keeper Kevin Holland, only for home defender Louis Elliston to divert the ball into his net in attempting  to clear.

With most of the league's top sides having players involved in the representative match, there were not many Premier Division games, although Steeton decided to play one despite having two of their regulars absent.

They travelled to bottom-placed Overthorpe and had to settle for a point in a 2-2 draw.

Paul Hodgson and Elliott Brooks scored for Overthorpe, while Damian Whiteoak and Andrew Foster replied for the sectional leaders.

Campion visited Kirkburton and were beaten 6-1, a Damien Sykes hat-trick complementing goals from Tim Sykes, Josh Williams and Jack Greene, Tim Howard netting Campion’s reply.

Littletown eased their relegation fears when they won 3-1 at Golcar United, Joe Jagger, Richard Newman and Scott Wilson netting for Littletown.

Halifax Irish improved their chances of returning back into the top flight with a 4-0 Division One home win against Ventus Yeadon Celtic.

Gareth Sherwood, (2) Mick Gregory and Damian Southwell netted for the Irish, while Campion Reserves stay third from bottom after their second-placed visitors Wakefield City ran out 4-0 winners.

Hunsworth, with goals from Dale Wright and Jamie Bairstow, stay top after beating Storthes Hall Reserves 2-1.

Salts Reserves booked a semi-final spot in the Division Two Cup after beating hosts West Horton 3-1 on penalties after the sides finished 1-1 following extra-time.
