At 29, Jamie Langley remains some way off retirement but he is already planning for the future.

The Bulls stalwart has launched his own clothing brand and personal training company with former team-mate Wayne Godwin and Duane Straugheir, who works for the Bulls’ Foundation and plays for Sheffield Eagles.

The trio have branded their enterprise ‘We Are Taurus’ – a reference to Godwin’s nickname ‘Waggataurus’ – and use the slogan ‘Beast Mode’ on their clothing.

“Myself, Wayne and Duane have all got personal training qualifications so we decided to put it to good use,” said Langley, the Bulls’ longest-serving player.

“As a rugby league player you get a bit of spare time during the season, your recovery days, and we thought we’d like to do something with our qualification.

“But we didn’t want to go down the obvious route of just offering personal training.

“We felt we’d do something a little bit different and offer a clothing range as well – training clothes, t-shirts and hoodies, which we’d like to expand on in the future.

“Rugby is our priority at the moment and we’re all quite busy with that.

“So with the little bit of spare time we do have at the moment we’re working on it as much as we can and getting the stock together.”

A website to promote their business and advertise their services will be launched on Saturday.

Langley added: “We’ve got plenty of products on offer and have got two personal trainers working for us.

“They are mobile and can come to a location of your choice and offer various types of training.

“We’ve also got a sports masseuse and one of our personal trainers is qualified to go into primary and secondary schools and provide coaching. It’s like a small company really so we’re offering lots of different products and on top of that the clothing as well.

“The clothing was just to get the brand out there really but on the back of that we’ve got lots more to offer. Myself and Duane are from the Normanton area and Wayne is from the Castleford area, so we all try and get together on a regular basis.

“It’s hard because we all have different days off but we manage to meet up once a month and try and get things done.

“But it’s quite exciting and we’re all looking forward to it.”

Towards the end of last year, Langley and Straugheir ran a Bull Body Blitz fitness class in conjunction with the Bulls Foundation.

“Duane might be branching out now and doing a few more classes through We Are Taurus,” added Langley.

“We’ll be keeping people updated via Twitter and it’ll be great to get people of all abilities and fitness levels involved.

“It’s really fun and everyone seems to be enjoying it. Having the website will help.

“There is information on there about the personal training, coaching in schools and also a online shop for the clothing.

“We’re excited about it because we’ve already had a lot of support from within the rugby league community.

“Hopefully we can now kick on and push it to a wider market.”

Langley, meanwhile, believes the Bulls can maintain their impressive start to the season against London Broncos at Adams Park on Saturday.

He said: “It’s going to be a tough game because London have got a good side.

“Their results probably haven’t reflected the quality they have in their team.

“It’s tough for us after the Easter period but there are two points on offer and we want them.”

Langley made a pivotal try-scoring contribution against Salford on Monday and is all but over the groin injury which recently reduced him to the sidelines.

He explained: “I’m still in rehab with it and trying to work through it. I’m getting through the games alright and, slowly but surely, everything is coming together again.”

Fans can log on to Langley’s venture at www.wearetaurus.co.uk when the website goes live on Saturday.
